Not much point, but put a line at the end of msdos.sys:

logo=0

You'll have to attrib -r it tho.

Oooh... takes me back to me Win95 days. :(

The Windows splash screen on startup is a 320 x 400 bitmap file called logo.sys. This can be editied and saved using any bitmap editor, but make sure you don't change the resolution or number of colours.

The 'Windows is shutting down' and 'It's now safe to turn off your computer' splash screens are called logo*.sys (where * represents a letter I have forgotten)

Go here for more info.

I did that to a school PC ages ago. Every morning the IT teacher had to type win to get it working. :D

If it's still in use I'm willing to bet that somebody is still typing win on that PC to this day. Heh heh. :)

logo.sys is any custom start-up logo you may have (in c:\)

logow.sys and logos.sys are in c:\windows\system as far as I remember.

You can view them in Paint Shop Pro at least.

Get more from that site I supplied, its only a quick one I found.
