Windows XP!!!

I just updated my pc from windows 98- Windows XP and since then Half-Life wouldnt start , so i deleted it and wanted to re-install it, but (oh crap)i couldnt install it for sum wierd reason... is this because of Windows XP...need help quickly. uke:

why wont it install? what error messages it give you? whats your comp spec btw?

How exactly did you delete it? Did you just delete the Half Life folder or properly unsitalled it? And why exactly cant you install it - an error message or something else?

Ive installed Half Life about 10 times on winXP and about two times Ive had winXP come up with the "This program has compatibility errors with windows XP" crap ... click continue and it installs fine tho.

(I uninstall it during those bleak CS moments, normally after someone has given me an on-server demo of the newest OGC, or other such incidents)

thnx ppl for the mesgs, i Unistalled it completly , and i think it hasnt got n e thing 2 do with Xp , its the CD , i borowed a copy of me m8 2day and just installed it and it works perfectly now. Thnx

oh and btw the msg that came up wuz "D:\.......\INSTALL.EXE; Dispatcher Initialisation error 11"

hmm, sounds like the installer.exe got corrupt somehow.... strange

I take it you do have a legit copy yourself?
