Windows XP problem

hey guys can anyone help !!!!!!

i have halflife with the latest 1008 patch counterstrike 1.3 and opposing force running on the new windows xp platform.
the problem - the games works fine on line, however when you exit the game to return to windows the computers crashing 90 percent of the time, control alt and delete wont function and the only way to remeady this situation is to hit the reset button. ive uninstalled everything defraged the hardrive and then reinstalled everything again defraging the drive after full installation, but to no avail, i also have the same issue with UT but not as much as halflife,,,,
Id take it thats its not down to my computers performance seen as my mate has the same problem on his machine who also runs the new windows xp platform.
i got a athlon 800 with 384 ram and Nvidia Riva TNT64 graphics card.....

Weird, iv'e many different problems with Xp, but i find the ctr alt delete never fails. I do have a few probs with the 20 series Xp drivers though, in many games they are the cause of crashes and lockups 9 times out of 10. Fact is though you should either duel boot, install Xp on another machine, or wait till it's released for better support.

The lastest patch seems to of caused some stability problems from what I'm hearing.
