Windows XP and update

I still have major issues with my computer locking up/freezing. Its not overheating afaik.

I know I dont have everything installed from windows update for instance SP2 since I heard it could cause problems. Ive also heard some of the updates have been casuing reboot and freezing problems but not sufre if I could uninstall updates and have a working wind XP afterwards.

Any hints ?

I've got all the windows xp Service Packs and updates on both the machines I use to play daoc and never had any problems whatsoever.

As far as your query about removing SP's and updates once they are installed, afaik you can't do it short of reinstalling windows. Not 100% sure tho.

I didnt mean SP1 but rather some of the other updates

Ive had the exact same problem for 2 months since i had a brand new comp built.
What gfx card you using because the shop changed every item of hardware until only my gf 6800 ultra was left,now works fine with a diff gfx card in so either the card was faulty or the system im running doesnt go well with a gf6800 ultra :eek2:
