Windows XP and IRC

If you're using Windows XP and the built-in firewall you'll probably find you can't connect to IRC servers. I've found a way to let IRC-related traffic through.

Open the Properties of your Internet connection, select Advanced and Settings.

Click the Add button and enter the details as below. I've used the BarrysWorld IRC server as an example.

That's it! You can now keep your firewall on and enjoy hours of aimless chat and abuse.

/me takes note of SomeGuys open port

It will connect to irc but the irc server tries to get a indent responce from your cpu. It uses this port to talk to it. If its not open it eventually timesout and connects without ident.

/me cums in SomeGuys eye
