It seems to be corrupt!
When i open up event viewer all logs are empty and when i go into services, i can change the startup up, but the start, stop, pause and resume buttons are all greyed out. Its status is started, i can change the startup type to disabled, it will then not start on bootup but thats all the control i have over it.
Net stop eventlog results in:
The requested pause or stop is not valid for this service.
I've disabled it, rebooted and renamed all the logs, then set it to automatic and rebooted, this doesn't seem to help.
I've tried scf /scannow, chkdsk /f, defrag etc nothing has helped.
Any ideas?

The Event item can not be stopped, its either locked due to a dependant service, or its impossible to disable it. Mine will not allow it to be resarted/stopped.

If the logs are corrupted, it will tell you.

To clear logs right click on any of the logs and select properties then Clear Log

edit: looks like renaming them all did do the trick, they've started logging again.
But there was no errors before, wierd? :\

its called "Event Viewer", lives under control panel, admin tools, event viewer.

I think, tho Im not 100% sure, you'll need to be admin, or an admin level user to use it.
