right. need some help here. the only reason why i've stayed away from winamp 3 is because of the way it organises my playlist. it seems unable to do it in directory order so i was wondering if anyone could help.

in winamp 2 it would arrange my files as thus:

Misc files.
basement jaxx
claude challe and ravin
hans zimmer
james horner
placebo
radiohead
etc.

however, in winamp 3 it organises them in alphabetical order. every file. so my misc files get mixed up with all my cd folders even if I click sort by path filename it seems unable to complete this option.

help?

also. wheres the option to change the FPS in visulisation? as i hate it when the osilliscope is jerky

iirc, there is a place on Windows desktop for the music. I think its entitled "Recycle Bin". But you have to clear out the Recycle Bin every time yu place those files in there.

Probably the same reason every beta / rc of it has been available days before winamp.com has had them.

Previous betas of Winamp 3 haven't floated my boat at all, but this has been placed into my "Later" folder for, well, later.

TBH Winamp 2.xx was the perfect MP3 player, it did things in a logical manner, and the playlist organisation was solid.

I'll give it a looky see anyhows :)

Its good, but very few skins at the mo, and the old ones (the beta versions) dont work :(

Yeah it's better than the beta versions by a long shot.

Using it atm.

I wont be switching til there are more decent skins around (can't believe they didn't make it compatible)

The current beta of WMP 9 has a few small problems but its looks promising.

NO! I'm not having it! Nobody's taking away my ultra-l33t 'Nucleo_NLog_v102' skin.

Simple, clear with a 50s retro stylee to it. I hate those futuristic-looking ones that Matrix fan-bois seem to churn out each hour.

What are you talking about?

Winamp 3.x supports old Winamp 2.x skins, they wouldn't dare not include that support.

You can switch safely, Summo :|

EXCEPT

Some skins don't fully work, or indeed work at all.

Take young Summo's skin there for instance, I have that same skin meself, but while the main WA window skin works, the playlist skin doesn't.

:/

yeah, just noticed that about summo's skins playlist window, that's a bit of a downer.

At least it has some support for the most of it, EQ, etc :\

I'll stick with Winamp 2.80 & Albumlist 1.36 thx, it handles my directory structure better than the betas of three ever did.

Think I'm gonna stick with 2.80 as well, because 3.00 feels like a beta still, pretty laggy.
