Why don't you do a fresh install and format the HD from the start, i realise that your reason for the over install was because you wanted to keep stuff, but its best to format matey. Perhaps go buy a 40 gig HD so you have two to whack your important stuff on.

That was the option I selected (install Win2000 instead of upgrading)

dont know why it "saved" WinME tho

So did you change the bios boot sequence setting to 1st boot device:cd rom? Or did you press f8 as it was booting up to enter setup? Did you have the option to delete selected partition near the beginning of the setup? Always delete the partitions even if you think they are the right format.

I recall I did this once, I thought I was leet at doing a dual boot system, had no fucking idea how I did it though:(

This would have installed Windows 2000 alongside Windows ME. It wouldn't have cleared off your old OS. You should have selected 'upgrade'...

BUT NOW WE HAVE CROSS-FORUM CONVERSATIONS!

You obviuosly have a variance in the flux capacitors, this is usually sympomatic of a plasma instability in the power conduits. If a full diagnostic scan shows nothing obvious you may have a power surge caused by a magnetic ion field, this would also cause some inconsistancies in warp core field generation.

Well it's worth a go anyway.

Whats worth a go? You didnt actually suggest he do anything, just what the problem may be.

Ooh a proper problem. Here I go

1) Check BIOS boot menu and make sure CD is first bootable drive
2) Put in Win2k CD
3) Restart
4) Install.

Well I suggested a full diagnostic.
Otherwise realignment of the power relays should do it.

:twak:

Don't be stupid.

You blatantly need to reroute power from the flux conversion fields into the auxiliary power coupling.

That is dangerous, it could easily cause the auxiliary power couplings to overload, leading to a warp core breach.

Do what mellow says but before you start make sure that you run fdisk and sort out your drive into 1 drive and format to make sure (I know wink2k does this but its just to be safe)

If this fails go and buy a new computer.

Remebering of course that 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity is a bit much to put through a PC. Works wonders on DeLoreans tho.

It strikes me that Laz's machine runs on a mixture of Doc and Starfleet technology.

A very dangerous position to be in :uhoh:

guys,

hate to interrupt your ramblings, but does anyone have links to software that allows "undelete" options under Win2K ?

once You have provided these, you can return to your inane drivel. ;)
