Win XP problem

Hi,

My brothers got a problem with his computer.win xp.

When the computer loads up al he gets is his desktop picture and nothing else. No icons, or toolbar/start button along the bottom.

Anyone had this happen to them bfore?

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Got some questions that may give us an extra clue

- Did this happen after a fresh install? If not, has any new software/hardware been installed prior to the problem appearing?
- What hardware is in the comp?
- Tried new drivers yet?

Managed to get it working with a fresh installation of Win Xp.
