Win XP and Q3 ??

is there anyone there that knows how to get rid of the damn firewalling in XP, yes i know i HAVE told the damn thing not to use it but poor old Q3 cannot see through it to get the servers updated, any help would be much appreciated

I assume you're asking how to disable it... http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/networking/icf.asp might give you some insight to your problem.

Well my friend i don't think that the firewall is your problem cause me and other people i know have quake 3 on win xp with the firewall on with no problemo.Some times when playing a lot on cracked servers and after that i want to update the non cracked servers i get zero servers and it works after i restart the game.And another one, check if you can ping the id quake 3 authorize master server (the server that give you the updates) instructions and the adress you can find on the quake 3 read me
If you can't then the problem is with your connection,your router or your provider.You can find an article about quake 3 connection problems here

i use XP, dont fiddle with the firewall settings (so all is as it was when XP was installed) and Q3 and all my other games run and connect fine to servers.
