I went out biking with my mate Max yesterday, and we really tore it up this time haha :) The woods around arnhem are absolutely riddled with mtb trails and/or horse paths, so there's plenty fun to be had on your bike. Btw, I don't think I've even been so dirty in my life! Mud everywhere! Woot!

Yesterday's good stuff:
-finally made it up a certain hill that's been defying all my efforts
-saw a wild boar in the deep forest. brill! [scared me shiltess though, those things are big!]

After I got back to my place Max and I cleaned the bikes off, ending up with enough mud to start our own mini-forest if we had liked heh. Life is good :)

And I thought Arnhem was a sleepy little town, full of touristy sites and little else. And here we have TdC and his mates tearing around the countryside, spreading mud all over the place.

As long as you had fun.:)

shiltess
adjective (superlative of PEER) equal hierachy.
adverb (superlative of EQUAL) 1 of the same lineage. 2 to greatest degree.
noun those who are equal.
verb colloquial defeat, outwit.

Happy?

Glad you enjoyed it Teedy. :D

Weve just spent a week in the Yorkshire Dales (Harrogate/Knaresborough area) and I managed to get out for a couple of hours each day, apart from one, when I did a mammoth 4 hr trek. All on the road mind, non of this muddy stuff.

Rode in to work today and my legs feel like their made of iron. I think I need a rest.

We went to watch the Liege-Bastoigne-Liege Classic in the Ardennes last year, it was fucking superb. Those hills (La redoute etc.) are steep. Were talking 22/28 % for like 3 kilometers.

Youch.:eek6:

I feel obliged to say at this point, that we didnt actually ride up the hills. We just watched the pros, then jumped in the car and sped off to the next bit.

When we watched the Tour of Flanders a few years back, we set up camp in the pub half way up the Muur de Grammont. Got absolutley stinkin drunk on some loverly Belgian beer that the locals recommended and missed the leaders go past.

We did see the main bunch, but by that time they were just fighting for the petty places.:(

The Milk Race (not sure what its called now) came through Southport about 20 years ago.

I thought "I'll watch from the bottom of that downhill section, fukkars will be flyin' "

They were, whooosh whoosh whoosh.

The whole peleton went past in about 10 seconds, a blurr of colours :(

Sadly, the milk race was stopped about 12 years ago. It changed to the Kellogs tour of Britain, then the Pru Tour. Now, nothing.:(

I went to see the Pru in London a few years ago, race round a square by the river. Good fun, can't remember who won the stage though :(
