Anyone have any idea how these cards perform gamewise? We've got a pretty good deal on the 6210 bundled with Maya and some plugins, obviously it'll mostly be used for Video work, but I'd like to know if I'll be able to still play Moh:aa ;o)

Hmm... Firstly, I have no experience of these cards (good start) but I seem to remember that these sort of 'graphics professional' card don't run games particularly well.

That said, according to the technical specifications, the Wildcat III supports DirectX 7.1 and OpenGL 1.3, so most games should be covered, including MOHAA, I'd say.

But then again, what do I know?

The site also mentioned you need Windows 2000 or XP.

Any idea where in the uk sells the Quadro 4, hopefully I'll be able to get one of the wildcats and the Quadro 4 900 to compare, whichever is 'TEH WIN' for Video will be invested in.

I'd be more tempted to get a FireGL 8880 tbh.

(The fact that FireGL is now owned by ATi has nothing to do with this - they make the boards but have nothing to do with the driver/hardware design process.)

and which while costing more than even the 4-display quadro boards lose in all but a few professional graphics benchmarks...

hmm and you say that the fact that FireGL is now owned by ATi has nothing to do with your choice? then why pray tell?

Hmm, I think the Wildcat is going to the better option, mainly as it supports Genlocking, I'm just off to find a place who can send me one to test, what fun

I forgot that Xavier is planning on being the next Tom or Anand. Except that he doesn't know enough about anything to be a Tom and is far too dull to even be an Anand.
