Wii Strikers

Looks like quite a lot of fun, and getting good reviews so far. May buy it later this week! Anybody else going to?

it does look quite good. It kinda reminds me of Sega soccer slam, which was a very enjoyable game.

It was about time for the wii to get another good game though. The last few ones have been decent at best.

If its fun and easy to pick up, the online play will be awesome.

I bought it today, I've only played for 5 mins as housemates needed the room to revise in, however it was awesome fun. Will post more details later!

Its a great game. Played it for about 4 hours earlier. Done the training and then played online. Didn't even touch the single player stuff. Only letdown of the online mode is when playing a ranked match theres no options or anything. Its just Best of three. Three minute matches. probably the most addictive game ive played on the wii. Graphics are great, the crowd looks fantastic. If your 5-0 down with 20 seconds to go you still have the chance to win which is always good, not so good if your winning though. Really easy to pick up and play, training took me about 30-45 mins total then I was ready for my first online match which I won
Another great thing is when you pass the ball more it becomes more powerful, which encourages you to pass the ball more (you need to anyway because you lose the ball quickly if you don't)

In online mode you can play against your friends in your friend roster,Play a random person, you and a friend can play against someone online and much more!

The ranked system is good, if you lose you still get points (just 1) but its better than lose points. The only way to lose points is if you disconnect before the match is finished.

There is lots of stadiums but some of them are very similar. The only difference being the way it looks and different obstacles on it such as electrical floor or big rocks that come smashing down.

You use a mii as your avatar which is also once you select a Mii, all your game stats will be saved to that Mii.

Dudley, tonights not looking hopeful, my housemates got a friend over to revise with, and they're working in our sitting room.
I played a bit over tea and got a bit better, got to the multi-shot tutorial and got quite good. Had a game against another housemate which was fun although I want to go back and do the tutorials so I'm better.

How about sorting a time tomorrow sometime?

Dudley I had a good go tonight. I can beat my housemate consistently, however I went online and lost my first 11 matches on the trot.
It felt like everybody was vastly superior to me. However then I had a bit of a comeback and ended on a 4 match winning streak or so.
In general I really enjoyed it, its so satisfying when you create the space to use a power ability and score. Although damn frustrating when someone else manages to use a megashot ability on you when it seems to take half the time you do.

I'm going to bed soonish, but I'll see if you're online tomorrow and try sort out a game!

I have to take that back - had a party last night and with the right medicine and with the right people this game is sooo fucking hilarious I first played with 50" screen which made goalkeeping way too easy but with 32" its actually balanced enough

Thinking about getting this but worried its a one trick pony with only 1 game mode?

Played it for 30mins at a friends and found the controls overly complicated if you invite a friend round ot play it you will just kick their ass as they can not take advantage of the control system.

Also playing randoms on the net seemed like there were loads of uber keenos exploiting balance issues, not exactly fun times. I guess if you can arrange a match against a friend its more entertaining.

Worth the £35 plunge?

Tempted to wait for driver: parallel lines / resident evil 4 out next week although they won't have any multiplayer.
