If you profess to know the reason why not enlighten us - I assure you that Barrysworld are most definatly liable for content on their boards.

A recent case in the UK highlighted the issue, when Demon settled with Dr Laurence Godfrey after he claimed to have been libelled on a Web site carried by the ISP. Under the 1996 Defamation Act, an ISP is not liable if it quickly removes allegedly defamatory information from a site having been asked to do so. In the Demon case, it failed to remove the offending information, despite two separate requests from Dr Godfrey.

They will only delete a thread or comments if requested to, to comply with the law. IMHO they are being emminantly sensible and not encourage beahviour which coudl result in them being held liable.
