Why do Procs on Crafted Weapons Proc a lot less....

Hi

I've been using a the 2H Back Ash Soul Slayer Sword for many Lvls now, its a OTD items of 100% Quality, and has a Heat DD Proc, its 15.3 DPS.

Now with this weapon, I get alot of Procs, sometimes I may get 2 in a row, and sometimes I've had as many as 4 in a row.

The lvl of mob I right does not affect the amount of Procs, just if they resist or not.

I've recently started using a Arcanium 99% Weapon with a Lvl 47 DOT Matter Proc.

I mentioned to Iguk last night, that I was not pleased with the frequency of my procs, and he said that he has noticed the same problem.

So can anyone explain why Proc on crafted weapons don't proc as frequently as OTD/Dropped items/Quest Items.

I have a weapon with lvl 47dot proc and it procs a hell of a lot to be honest...

i've not noticed the difference between my fsls and crafted but i think there may be one.

different types of procs have different rates.
DD procs are estimated at proccing approx 2 times as often as DoTs.
So that explain why that ash sword doo-hicky procs more..

I've been grouping with a couple of guildies who both have the 47 DoT proc's on their weapons. Ones a level 50 Friar, the other a 50 Armsman - Im amazed at how often they proc! It seems alot higher than compared to myself and my epic pole.

I a 47 merc that carries 2 99% arcanium weapons... on avarge against an orange con when solo i get 2 proc's a fight. This is with 47 lvl DoT's... In Groups against purples they proc often between 2 & 4 times, hell on the princess today between them they proc'd 6 times..

So all in all i say there nothing wrong weith the proc rate... that or i just been luck past couple of days

The procccing rate for crafted procs i * think* i remember it to be 10% chance on hit, dropped weapons and otds have a higher (25% i think) rate
Feel thankful, tehy were going to be a 5% proc rate :eek2:

Yep I have read something very similar to that but it seems to differ for DD and DoT procs somewhat. Also it hasn't been confirmed by Mythic, just by people parsing logs which can be very misleading unless you run the tests across multiple classes and levels which no one seems to have done yet.

there was something in the patch notes somewhere, that wiht alchemy introduced, they would reduce proc frequency.

wether or not this affects drops as well or only crafted, i dunno.
But they stated, that it was reduced to 10% (from 20 i think)

Yup I read that too, wasn't very detailed and the true figures seem to suggest higher rates but again until someone does a real investigation across levels/classes you won't get a clear picture.
