Why do we.

Drink loads just to...

Feel rough in the morning

Wonder what happened last night

Cant remember coming home

Ache all over and wonder why?

We drunk 36 bottles of stella between 3 of us, yeah i know that aint much and i wasn't really that leathered but yet i still can't remember coming home and getting in.

I wake this morning, my big toe aches and my left ankle aches. My head hurts and i wonder how much of a cock i made myself look (If i did) last night.

We all whinge about having head aches and shit afterwards, but yet we still do it! Why?

Over drinking isn't fun, but social drinking and drinking for the taste of something(like having a scotch while shooting stuff at the PC), is fun.

Sometimes you go overboard, sure, but then you pay for it. But only pansies complain about it.

I'd say start drinking fizzy drinks or even water with your drinks, noticed my hangover is cooler, i stay sober enough not to "f*ck up" and i still have the "buzz fun".

Well only you can answer that,
the common excuse is so you can "relax" or "loosen up" why you would feel uncomfortable and find the need to within your own friends circle is down to you i guess. But it is a well known fact that alcohol enduces a euphoric lie state (among other side effects which we all know)

Another one used is so someone seems less annoying, the real question however is that if you are drinking with your friends are they really your friends if you can't spend extended periods of time with them sober? as in reality even if you drink you don't have to get drunk

There is also the society view of it, most people in the UK drink so the need to "fit in" and do something daft like getting wasted is pretty compelling as "everyone else is doing it"

Then there is the select group who enjoy the taste, and the experience of trying new beers and beverages, much like trying different resteraunts. But i suspect this group is considerably small compaed to the majority

/end my detailed post for the day

I agree most lager is utter shite, but then most people think that what I drink mainly-->Whiskey and Ale (not mixed of course, that would just be wrong) tastes nasty as well. Just up to the individual really! I try not to drink to the point where I forget things happen, it just ends up with my thinking for most of the next day whether I've done something really really stupid which no-one is going to tell me about or which is going to come and bite me on the ass later on.

Stella brewed in England is fucking awful, laced with horrible chemicals to preserve it. Proper Stella brewed in Belguim is a half decent drink, unfortunately most of the stuff you find in the UK is brewed here and tastes like rats piss plus it will leave you with a terrible headache. You might as well drink Fosters and save the money. Why Fosters? Same company brew both beers under licence in the UK and they are effectively the same drink but one costs 30% more.

besides, Fosters is a hella cool name as well.

its fun to get hammered, like really fucking hammered. but only on very rare occacions, the blackouts and the scenes it can create can be fun (or horrible). Unlucky me i get blackouts after 1-2 beers (not complete blackouts), probably because i got a bad memory or just a shitty brain :/ but more and more i feel like just having a "couple" of alcholic beverages. besides hangovers fuck me up now a days, 2 days of drinking in a row happens but once a year now i think (wehay! bad memory...)

This reminds me of the advert on TV these days, the one with the guy and girl who get changed, rip up all their clothes and make themselves look a state, with the "You wouldn't start your night like this, so why end it?" - Good Ad *nod*

Depends how much you drink, people don't know their limits tbh.

I don't know why people do it, I do know why I don't however, mainly because of how the people who do it ends up after having done it.

The asian bloke sells belgiums, £6 for 6 cans. Fairly cheap tbh and they taste better than otu of a bottle

Just drink in moderation Laddey (easier said than done sometimes), otherwise you may wake up one day needing a drink instead of wanting one.

We do it because its expected of us to do so. Its expected we do all this, and to not do it is somehow freakish and warped, held against our own preconceptions of what is 'normal'.

Also, like penetrative sex, alcohol is just the best.

Dont know about the UK but here in ireland id guess that about 90% of people who are going out or are "getting" with someone are doing so becuse of getting drunk like this....it seems that most relationships (of people my age group roughly 18-26ish) start because of getting drunk like this on a night out and then texting each other after!

im not saying this is a good thing....just seems to be the way it is....not sure it works so well either as my last 2 realtionships started like this and both ended really badly!

Again, none of the lagers you get at the pump, stella, fosters, carling, carlsberg and all that crap are actually nice, they are just fizzy pop made with chemicals. Some of the real lagers from Germany and Belgium and even a few from America/Canada are really nice.

If you want a mass produced real lager try proper budweiser, not the junk from America but the Czech "real" version

I was in the Stella brewery in Leuven last month, and tbh there's not much difference.

The better lagers in europe are all Pils, like Maes and Jupiler.
