Why are so many people so ignorant ?

Regretably the more I play this game, the more it infuriates me....not so much the game but the attitude of the people who play it, and their damn right UTTER RUDENESS......especially in the realm of RvR.

I getting very sick of standing there like a twat keep asking for any spaces in a group, and everyone totally ignores you.

Now if it was in real life, and you kept getting ignored in this way, sooner or later you'd give someone a smack......but in the magnificent realm of Albion there just seems to be so many high lvl ingnorant tossers.

I have spent most of the weekend "LFG" in Emain, now as a 2H lvl 45 Paladin, i appeciate that I am not the most sort after character, even with ressing ablilities and FH, but I wish that players would at least have the cuirtosy to at least reply when someone asks to group.

Even a "No" would be better than just the silence, or a "you can join until we get a Mini then you goto leave".

On Saturday I spent over 40 minutes trying to get a group, and I did not get 1 single reply, and this Sunday pretty much the same thing has happened.

Yet the moment I get to AMG, and see all these tossers lying dead, they will soon want me to res them.

I am fully fed up wandering around Emain on my tod, ressing all the dead Albions, when most of them can't be bothered to reply when I ask for a group.

That doesnt mean to say all lvl 50 players are ingnorant tossers, there are a few decent ones like Ken Wood (my Mum has one of his food mixers).

You'd run into tesco's with a lot of strangers, yell LFG TO PURCHASE SHOPPING SUPPLIES, and if everyone ignored you, you'd give them a smack?

"LFG" isn't a question, just a status report. Ofcourse people won't reply when there's no question.

Try sending people, asking guildies etc. Saying "LFG" won't help a bit.

these arnt even close to being the same type of situation - Tescos is a place to buy food etc DAoC is GAME where the main purpose is to co-operate.

Ok, when I said "LFG" in post it means that I have asked for groups in a number of ways like:-

/send LFG in Emain Please
/send Anyone have any spaces in Emain Group please
/send need a group please

also tried yelling them all too.

Am I doing this wrong ?

Doesn't nobody understand ?

Nextime I will try and send a personal message to everyone I see, asking for a group, let see if this gets better results.

I did notice you Diddy and all I can do if I'm not GL is to ask the GL to invite you to the group. My request was ignored.

It's a hard and nasty fact of life with this game now that if you are not level 50 you cannot possibly have anything to offer a group in RVR (or so they believe...misguideley IMO).

personally I think that their attitude is bollox.

I do sympathise with you because if you cannot get a group then you cannot be of any help in the defence.

Peoples attitudes need to change but I doubt very much that it will happen.

Get 50 Diddy and you will see a different side of RVR. I still feel very sad tho that we have to get 50 to be counted as important or good enough to take part in RVR

I think you are doing it the wrong way.
IF you want a group, its all about how you ask.
If i am GM, and is approached by someone saying <or more often yelling> LFG PLZ (or something similar), im reluctant to invite him.
Why?
To me, that seems a bit too demanding, just spamming 3 letters.

What you should do instead, is to send a tell to someone, saying Hello. Do you have a free spot me?

first of all, a formal greeting when you meet people, is always polite.
Second of all, the question is polite and inquiring.

Those who are not accepting you on such a request, are either full, waiting for someone they already promised the spot for, or not the group you would want to go with anyway.

Another very good solution to this problem, is to simply not go to Emain.

Odin's has some good small-scale skirmish <less lag, and it requires you to play your best more often than Emain>.

Hadrian's is pretty good too. Theres alot of running there though, but you got hasteners all the way, and you will learn how to navigate your own frontier, which is something 80% of the Emain zerg is not capable of (not long ago, i had to tell a rr5 albionite, how to get to Boldiam. i almost cried)

I go to emain a lot (shush Liste, I also go hadrians and odin's, but during the day etc emain is where most of the 'action' is )
and most of the time it is a while till i get a group.Usually i take this as a:groups full or b:they are waiting to get someone they find to be a more 'usefull' class.Anyone who wouldnt invite a fellow alb, never mind his/her level, if they had a spare space, in my opinion is not a player you would want to group with.

I dont believe this is true, i was out in emain yesterday, and the usual standoff at amg was occuring, although i was ungrouped i was still trying to nearsight the archers and casters on the battlements, which i take as being part of the defence.

Get 50 Diddy and you will see a different side of RVR.

getting a group out in emain in my experience is not level based at all, and have come across very few people with this attitude.I have grouped with varied levels at times and found them all to be very useful and good players for example knudden. revelations, brohanith and many many more.

Well if all you do is spam LFG! then you get what you deserve.

A lot of people like to rvr with guildies and friends - and people they can depend on.
Nothing wrong with running solo either. As a 2h paladin I guess your best bet, is to stick with the groups and charge the enemy casters. Your pull shout will interrupt them, giving you a better chance to get close.

Once you get 50 and things like faith heal you should see a lot more invites. And lighten up a bit.. noone likes a bitter guy.

Would you prefer to say "lfg" and then get 40 replies of "we're full" / "we hate you go away", the sheer volume of text spam would be silly. Generally if you say lfg people will only reply if they want you, unless you specifically ask a person/group rather than just polling everyone you shouldn't expect a reply.

See that happen all the time.. and have had it happen funny thing is, if I go to emain with Speeedy I always seem to have a group.. but if i go with a lvl 50 armsman I have trouble getting one.

Why are people ignorant (i personally dont like the word - bit to harsh for my liking)? Why dont people actually invite people to join them - is it because the RPs are shared out amongst more people so less each?

I've only been once with my guild on a proper RvR excursion so I'm a bit new to it all but I would have thought that a full group of 8 chars is better than a group of 4, even if some of them are slightly lower levels?

I'm not too picky about who I group if I am group leader, if someone is lower and isn't bothered about dying then fine.. But saying that someone I know is always likely to get preference to someone I don't.

Once you are Yellow con to 50 you will probably find it easier to get groups, but like some of the others have said a change in approach in asking will probably help

I wont give people a second glance if they shout LFG, its just being lazy, maybe if you spent the time structuring a sentence then you might get a reply, i often find "Anybody looking for a xxx?" or "Anybody got a free spot for a level xx xxx" ?

As somebody said get 46 so you con yellow to 50's, i know a few who would click on you, see you were blue and ignore you. After you have ported to emain/odins is the wrong time to ask, you need to ask in castle sauvage as many people will be focusing on where they are going / buffing and will not really be seeking members in the RvR zone.

A common attitude is why take a level 45 when there are plenty of level 50's looking for a group? And to be honest i tend to agree, if there are alot of level 50s seeking a group then i will invite them over lower levels. Its not like PvE where the levels dont really matter greatly, in RvR you will often come across a full group of level 50's, the extra levels and abilities a level 50 has can tip the battle in your favour. If there arnt many people looking for a group i will invite lower levels. I for one will not keep spots empty because the only people looking for a group are not 50, and to be honest i dont know many that would.

Being in a large guild i am often in guild groups and we sometimes keep a spot spare for someone that missed the port etc or someone that we know will be logging in shortly, if you cant find a group ask for one in /gu or if none are going offer to form one on /gu (this may be a problem if you are in a small guild)

This is just my view.

after yesterdays performance in emain at amg though won`t be doing a great deal of RvR outside of guild though but i`ll announce on alliance if we`re off

4 is better than 8 if the 4 know what they are doing and half the 8 don't. Not to say that Diddy doesn't, but if you don't know someone know have no idea if they have the first clue about RvR or not. It's very frustrating to die because of other people's mistakes. There is of course the view that if you never invite them, they'll never learn. It depends on whether the group you're asking is after RPs or helping people learn the game.
Also some people only like to play with their friends/guild, you're unlikely to get an invite from them no matter how much you ask.

I take the point about people not knowing what they are doing - didnt think of that I suppose I been in groups when I AOE mezz the mobs and have them nuked by casters who dont check their targets - I guess its the same idea.

Diddy I can'r be arsed to read some of bollock answers here where they are obviously trying to avoid the ACUTAL issue you have raised.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the term LFG on the port or at a gathering at amg, mmg, apk, mpk etc .

But be warned even a level 50 often gets ignored when shouting LFG for a group. I do it myself and sometimes I get grpd and sometimes I don't.


Excuse me kaitlyn ? how can a cleric be useful in realm defense when they aren't grouped ???? I can often run around Emain solo but that's usually at 5 am. other times i don't make it as far as amg so don't talk rubbish Kaitlyn.

I gotta say it again Diddy get 50 mate tho if I am GL and I see ungrouped I'll group with you anytime and that goes for all players who aren't the 'magic' 50 (believe me a lot 50s haven't got a damn clue Diddy )
