Why albs never group any more?

Hi, I must be noob and whatever. Why albs never want to grp anymore since NF came out?

I asked the same in the rvr cg and some people said "no point in grouping if there's no cleric in grp". Aparently cleric has turned out to be the only alb class with grp benefits. Not to mention performing coordinated actions.

Example situation:
Yesterday I entered PoC. There were like 6 plp at entrance who said there were mids inside. I asked for grp as usual with no answer. We all moved a bit inside and spotted some mids far away. Again nobodoy wanted to grp. They resulted to be almos a fg. We then attacked them (most of us ungrouped) and they killed all of us with no mid down. Of course, they were all grouped.

There is a lack of clerics about, which might partly exist due to a lack of groups (who is going to play their cleric solo? ). It also exists cause people in general prefer to kill something over providing support.
But there are groups up and running, they tend to be guild groups and groups of high rr players who already know eachother.

it's because if you're solo "U GT MOR ARPEEZ!!!11" (though how dying provides rps I dunno)

meh not everyone wants to group with random people, though it's usually quite sensible when there's a gank group coming in, survivability goes way up.

As for their cleric comment, there are so many abilities from ToA and RAs as well as the basic class abilities that affect your group that's an incredibly stupid justification

That or maybe people think you can't invite people to groups when you're not near the emain portal keep... or they've read too much bs about "ffs zergers" on the RvR boards and have been brainwashed into running solo into fgs of mids/hibs to make things fairer.

it's not just PoC though - you can go to most keep offenses/defenses and almost everyone there will be solo.

and i also think there arent enuff groups about.

but i think 1 of the problems is that 33% want to camp twr,bridge and 33% wanna roam and 33% wanna go take towers

hard to make a grp and get every1 satisfied.

there are enuff albs to make grps... noone tries really or every1 is in Duo. so you cant random invite

there's rarely 100 albs (at least when it's in our frontier ) - usually about 30 of them all solo getting farmed by 4-5fg mids hiding inside an alb tower engaging the lord

only if there's someone to leech from - if ther'es 30 soloers they're just free RPs for anyone with a well setup group.

Sounds like OF really guess some people will do what it takes to bring back the old days

yeah and its soooo fun to be a full grp char...like a cleric and every1 can solo...what do i need to respec smite now or something?

I am not saying it is right but guess people think that since there ARE enough albs and most easy moders from other realms have quit ,so not many enemy grps out there, they want to run in small grps. The rvr zone has become very large and you can solo more easy even unstealthed. Heck I have seen 3guys wipe fg (minc,pala,merc) and sorc with caba and my little's cleric ass wipe fgh..

I run solo alot, partly because I got used to the playstyle as I wasn't wanted in OF groups, and partly because it suits my circumstances atm. When running solo you can afk when you want without upsetting other people and as I am on call at work 24/7 it saves alot of hassle to be able to just leave the kb.

If I do have an extended play period then ofc it is nice to group (especially Reaver bomb groups ) but it is also really amusing seeing people that in the past advised me to 'roll a real tank' now spamming grp invites

Did you see the answer to the question "who is this guy?" 1st of all he is rr10 so... 2nd yes merc IS a grp char but he can solo a bit. 3rd if you whine about not being able to find a grp reroll.

not really, it wasn't intended as flame.
about the merc thing.. i just disagree let leave it with that.
about hte grouping its not a whine, i have grps with friends etc.
about the rerolling, not everyone can/wants to reroll, i for 1 like my class and i like playing it, and if everyone would reroll there would be no DAoC left we migth aswell go to the PvP server then.

I think the "sit at apk yelling lfg" syndrome is still pretty big, some people seem to think if they go into a "random" group they'll not get anywhere.

Something someone said last month at castle sausage has stuck in my mind, its quite funny to be honest, "lfg, not a random one", guess he/she was too leet to bless a random group with his/her pressence, I dunno. I really can't see his reasoning in thinking this way, unless he plays with a set group for a peroid of time, how can he ever expect to be in a random group?

Edit: Oh, and the role of a solo Cleric in RvR is to stun and fully buffshear any enemy they meet, then spam /laugh and run away!
