Who do you think woud turn the team out for some wins, etc who do you think could run the team better than sven ? i think we would be hard pushed to find another manager like sven.

who would you choose, and why :D

personally i think Ian Wright, could tactically take england to the top, hes a player however when he played he was a genius and i think he could transfer that knowledge into englands game :D

I think Wright would be less tactically aware than keegan, who was useless.
As for who would be better, it'd be interesting to see a scot do the job, either strachan or Fergie. :)

Wrighty, however wonderful he was, has no managerial experience whatsoever. Excellent players rarely make excellent managers.

I'd like to see someone like Wenger take over, someone who has done well in the English leagues and has a knowledge of the game or even someone with an international pedigree along the lines of Scolari who has won a major tournament.

I'm also interested in how Curbishley does with Charlton this season as I think he will be an excellent manager one day, however, whether the step-up to international management comes sooner or later is something that would need to be discussed at much more length.

I also think Curbishley. He would be perfect for the job.

Haha, Wrighty, he's mental! Have you seen him commentating? :p

Wenger would be brilliant..he's just an amazing manager but I don't think he'd take the job even if he wasn't at Arsenal.

Harry Redknapp ain't bad.

Perhaps not right now though as his pedigree at the top hasn't really been tested. We'd need to see how Charlton coped in Europe.

Curbishley knows the English leagues and the English players well. He has almost worked miracles getting Charlton to their current position given the resources available to him compared to other clubs so he's proved he can turn a team of lesser talented players (no offence to the Charlton players there but they haven't the money to buy the big talents so a lot is homegrown) into a team much greater than the sum of it's parts.

Sam Allardyce?

Same sort of situation as with Curbishley. Experienced at Premiership level but untested in Europe let alone an international scenario.

Peter Taylor was great with the U21 team, and guided us to a good result in Italy when he introduced most of the youngsters to the senior squad that Eriksson now uses.
