According to what i read only 1 major distributor has chosed hd dvd exclusively with 4 chosing Blu Ray the rest doing both.

VHS won because betamax, like macintosh, didnt promote as much.

betamax WAS better then VHS, but VHS promoted so much more.

Also the 14 billion dollars that hd dvd could get will not of set the fact that 80% + of box office money last year went to companys with exclusive Blu Ray deals so if when all those come out i think they will out strip porn for some reason

Umm yeah they did exist back then, and well before (they were all trading/using Cine Films prior to Home Video),and it's home video that is credited with the death of the peep show.

Home Video just launched them into the mainstream in a big way.

Which part of that has HD DVD with more exclusives you might mean they have released more titles already. But Blu Ray have mor tied to exclusive deals. Also there is stat floating around from the LG president (LG are non exclusive to either HD DVD or Blu Ray) explaing about how the 4 exclusive studios to Bluray had 80% of box office money last year. If that translates into sales of Blu Rays well it could decide things.

I have not watched either a Blu Ray or a HD DVD yet so ill have to take your word for it

Blu Ray single layer is 28gb so as big as a dual layer HD DVD . But i did read Blu Ray are waiting for dual layer to be mass procuceable then they can get 9 hours of HD on one disk.
