Who tha hell is Cluricaun?

This little lvl 10 NS dressed and looking like a Cluricaun.
My first guess is that its a GM having some fun..
Can some1 give a definite answer.

(not that its important jsut wanted to see If my guess checks out) :)

Well im not so sure.. he looks exactly like a cluricaun and also he has been lvl 10 for a good deal of time.

ah well its a good laugh anyways.. almost as funny as the village of dancing cluricauns :)

Yeah I've noticed him too, was going to take him hunting with us all some day, either for a laugh or to find out what he's up to... but he always seems to hang about in Innis and groups fill up fast there, not much room for a level 10 mob :p

Maybe tonight if I see him I'll have a chat :)

He's just a regular player who at first claimed he had no idea he was using an "illegal" name. Hmmm .. I thought .... and it's purely a concidence that he has exactly the same armour and colours as a Cluricaun Trip? I did inform him that if he contacted RightNow, he would get the chance to select a new name, but he more or less told me to "go away". A short while later, he said he knows he's using an illegal name (got the screenie). We'll just let GOA sort it all out.

So .. in short ... his choosing that name was intentional.

Does it bother you that his name is clurichaun ??? Ok, i'd appeal him if he had a name like, ooh let's say, arseyguy or something ...

neways my point is don't make a big fuss about this name as it is not offensive ...
1) player names get changed when appealed
2) players appeal a name that bothers them
3) this name does not disturb other players, in fact they have a good laugh about it ...

just curious... but wasnt it one of sidhe brotherhood who called himself siabra? sure i saw him a while back.

does that bother me? of course not. pls lighten up, were supposed to be the laid back realm i thought. :)

shouldnt be anything wrong with the nickname Cluricaun, esp as he is playing the part of a cluri :) if he was a firby named cluri, that would change it a lot, but as it is it shouldnt be :)

in some ways it can be confusing for enemy .

for example..
if a alb tank made himself a name called championarcher orjust champion .. on the battle feild most people are distinguished from distance, ie when u click it says "you target <name>" some folks dont look at what race it is on hp bar . and i imagine some folks would click it and see "you target <championarcher>" or summin similer and think "o fuck its a npc patrol im running" not saying all folks do . but i suposse thats why Goa have rules against those sort of names. .

Nobody in Sidhe Brotherhood by that name. We are a very small guild.



And just where do you draw the line on breaking the CoC? It clearly states that NPC names may not be used. Would it be ok to name a character "Champion Commander"? Is it ok to take advantage of a bug to hide inside walls and kill people while being invincible? Either we have a CoC that people should adhere to, or we don't. You can't just pick and choose which CoC rules are to be adhered to, and which are to be ignored.

And did I say I "squealed" on him??

*yawn* pls dont be so simple minded to think that the coc is a wonderful thing period. a set of rules will ALLWAYS have pointless little addidions which make no sense in certain situations. and written rules if made inflexible will ALLWAYS be used in situations where they are blatantly not needed, there are ALLWAYS grey areas not covered by inflexible written rules.

so pls, just stop thinking that a bunch of coc rules are the guidlines of how to be a good person, because they're not, they're just there to HELP the game keep a good atmosphere and give mythic/goa the ability to stop people's accounts etc... when people actually do things which mess up the game, ie hacks etc... (as in things which actually DO mess up the game).

only idiots fail to see the spirit of laws and follow them to the letter rather than as they were actually intended.

and yeah i'm sure it was sidhe brotherhood with siabra...

i think verena used the char for her "looking for a husband" little story on the old forums where there was a "siabra archmagi" with the sidhe brotherhood tag under the name. since i'd seen someone called "siabra" the day before it figures that the reason for the char was for the story i'd think.

but it still stands that there was someone running around called siabra, but what i'm getting at is wtf that would ever bother anyone?! when i saw it i was just pissed that i hadnt thought of it :D

what do i care if some armsman want's to call himself "elite guard", or some norseman decides to call himself "viking jarl"? good for a laugh as far as i'm concerned :)

I don't have a problem with that ... doesn't contravene the CoC ... as long as Tiger's name isn't copyright .. which I suppose it could be .. hehehe

Saw him first time in TNN.

Also remember some purple con guy dressed as a siabra, charging us when we exped at the siabra camp near parth farm, that was scary ;)
