I was outside PC World at 7am (3rd in queue!) AND THEY WERE SELLING TWO CORES ONLY!

So I went to every other shop I could think of, they all said the same thing, all sold on pre orders. All of us in the queue knew the staff had bought them so none for us to buy....

Mine arrived today, premium of course, although a neighbour signed for it. Hope they didn't nick it! It goes straight on ebay, seeing premium's going for £600-700 now!

Yes I've got mine. Mixed emotions however as the kindly man from DHL, upon finding that I was out at work, left it in my backgarden. Keep in mind that its been raining cats and dogs all day.

The parcel box is soaking wet and the internal box containing the 360 is also wet. Am now opening it up to see if it works okay, will report later.

Oh and for good measure he left it on its side despite the parcel containing a clear "This Way Up" sign on the side. Some people have not got the intelligence they were born with, fucking muppet.

Heh yeah not a fan of delivery men myself i like to pick it up in the shop where you know its not going to get thrown about.. not as if DHL care if something is faulty and they have to pick it back up.

Woohoo! It works okay :) The high definition output is fabulous, may have to retire my old DVD/HiFi system now ... or find a gizmo to take the sound output through it.

Shame Amazon didn't get my games to me in time, somewhat par for the course for that particular company. This time tomorrow though... *hopes*

i got one, got to my local pcworld (Reading) at 6:45 am, first in queue - they had 7 cores.

Ended up buying a lot that day.

Core system, 2x wireless controllers, 1x memory card, 1x vga cable, PGR3 and perfect dark.

I still need a small vga gender changer so i can plug it in to my monitor for high def- but i was playing PGR3 all day today on a crappy 14 inch tv using the scart cable that comes with the core system and i was still amazed by the quality.

PGR3 fuckin rocks.

BTW yes i kno i dont have a HD, everywhere is sold out but im gonna get one as soon as i can.

edit: oh yeah and £49.99 for a years xbox live :p

Pre-ordered mine from game (No 14) so no problem though I believe even then 1 or two people didnt get one.

I got the premium one, a wi fi adapter (that works fine) an extera wireless pad and a few games

PGR3 (6/10
Kameo (8/10)
PDZ (8/10)
Condemned (9/10)
Quake 4 (9/10)

I have quake on PC too but it looks so much better on my tv.

Need to get the digital audio cable next but most shops just have the basic stuff from what Ive seen

For digital sound all you need is an optical (toslink) cable. It plugs into the back of the HD-AV cable. You can get them anywhere, richer sounds and maplins should have some cheap ones.

The Dolby digital on the games I have is amazing. Much better than original xbox games.

I played PGR3 in Game today. Gotta say, I'm most unimpressed with the graphics - really doesn't look much better than the latest xbox games. A few nice effects, but nowt special.

However, I got the impression that the game might be quite good given a bit of getting in to.

Did they have it set-up running at 1080i or 720p? I admit its not a huuge change over pgr2, but it does look very pretty IMO. Nothing graphically compared to PC games or the other launch titles though.

Not sure - was on an LCD tv - but the resolution wasn't an issue - it was the texture quality.

The core pack is fine, IF:

# you don't have a high definition display
# you dont have old xbox games that you want to play on the new system
# you dont mind the wired controller
# you arent going to use xbox live

Other wise its a rip-off considering the cost of making a core system into a premium. £70 HDD, £32 wireless controller, £? Media remote, £20 HD-AV cable, £40 (?) Xbox live, £15 (?) Live communicator headset.

Fucking brilliant business decision the core system was. Would have been even better if they actually had enough accessories at launch to seel to all the core system buyers.
