I have to say i get pretty sick of them moaning, if they was that bothered about their connections they would spend money on getting a faster one!

Us LPBs get alot of shit from HPWs just because we are LPB. What they don't seem to consider is the fact that most of us were on slow connections before and we know what it's like.

I've been on 28.8K and 56K, so I know what its like to have to put up with it.

Yeh I used to be HPW on a terrible ISP, it really sucked

Now I get on average with BW a 20 ping and I'd never go back

I pay for it myself and those tight people out there should just understand 56k is a thing of the past

And to be honest being LPB is nice to play on but it hasnt affected my games that much

Damn Right Guys, I get so much shit cos of my 10 ping. i just can't take it any more, if ppl now say one thing to me in a server about my ping, i leave, to keep them happy and so not to get me angry.

a 133mhz P1 with AOL as an ISP!!!

that gives you something to think about dont it?

Luckily now i got 1.7ghz 512RAM PC and Cable Connection.

As a none moaning HPW (300+ average) I used to feel as if ping made a big difference, it doesn't, but it does make a difference. And that's what a lot of HPWs are trying to get you LPBs to admit, but most of you will go "no mate it was skill" Yes to a certain degree it was skilled, you spotted the enemy, you shot the enemy and you hit them, well done, but you do have to remember that you saw them a split second before they saw you, you started firing a split second before they did. A split second isn't much you might say but how long exactly does it take to empty a 30 round magazine from an MP5, what are reaction time measured in? that split second can make a difference. Now I don't confess to know a great deal about computers and connections being a mechanic and I'm not having a go at anyone, I'm just trying to make you guys see why we moan.
Also, you have to consider the fact that getting cable would mean moving to another area for some of us, as like in my area the line running through is made of every metal in the periodic table, but you need a pure copper line for cable and that ain't ever gonna happen around here and it's the same for a lot of people. But also there are some like me, who don't want to spend money on internet connections as (and don't take this the wrong way) I have a life away from the internet, I'd rather spend the money on my car, girlfriend, or my blades, and most importantly, drink.
Flame me if you want, but all I'm trying to do is provide another point of view on the subject.

First of all, whats the point of this thread?

The only time I need to moan at HPW's is when they are moaning at me first or start a thread bashing us. No point having a go at pople who would most likely kick half your arses (I aint seen any of u so called l33t 10 pingers on Bw servers, ad i spend my day there).

The average LPB ping is 30ms thats 30 milliseconds average HPW ping is 200 milliseconds. Thats 170 millesconds, thats 0.170 seconds. Thats not even teh reaction time of your brain or the time it takes your eyes to recognise light. Its definetly not the time it takes a mp5 clip to empty, or any other clip in the game.

HPW's moan because they are jealous and because they want to make an excuse for their shite play. I have yet to see a good player who is also a HPW moan, its always the newbies/not so great.


*EDIT* I know a lot of people are not in broadband areas, and while with the current low prices of cable less than half the country has access to it, ADSL is overpriced and again less than half the country has access to it.

YOu cant simply say oi get broadband, its still a lot more than dial up and just not available everywhere.

well for once Ch3tan I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but you would be surprised what 0.170 seconds can achieve you, it may not sound long but time is a funny thing. When I say how long does it take for you to empty an MP5 clip what I mean is you can't say it takes 5, 6 seconds dead on there's always that .something at the end. and if you consider how many bullets can fire from a gun in 0.170 seconds. I wonder how many rounds you can get out of a mini gun in 0.170 seconds, I heard the cyclic rate is 6000 rounds a minute, but that's probably wrong.

YOu some of us try to discuss and explain to HPW's why we dont have this magical advantage over them, what with HL's 56k friendly netcode and the fluke factor of CS.

Then someone comes along and says there connection does all the work for them. Well maybe in TFC connections rule but in CS skill still has the highest weighing, I consider myself an average player and I have been beaten by a HPW many a time, these were nice people who just knew Cs and played well.

I am a HPB. I have a poo comp. I often use AOL to play CS cos its playable & no ping spikes or lag unlike UT servers. I have also got connections to other ISPs that i pay per minute (second) but only use them for about an hour a night. But most often just for praccys or UT.

So therefore i use AOL as my main connection when playing CS. People may say u can only snipe with LPB connection. UH UH!

I may not be the best, but methinks im the l337'est AOL AWP whore out there. Of course i dont just use AWP.....but i get lots of kills with it.

Even if a LPB did see me 0.125 seconds b4 me. He still has to put 3/4 bullets in me. I shoot ma AWP & hes muchos dead =Þ

Also the net code is good for me....makes it more interesting at times. But highly annoying at other times.

BTW i couldnt imagine playing UT with AOL ping. (if i do i play shock arena or sumin with a big damage area)

So all u other moaning HPB's......i can understand if you moaned about UT or Q3 LPB/HPB's but on CS it doesnt make a huge difference. I would post sum screenies, but I cant upload to ma webby space atm. Had 2v2 with sum of ma clan.....in half hour i was on 18 frags & 12 deaths. On AOL btw.

What a waste of time this is, just as many LPB moan when killed by a HPW (he shot me round the corner, he lags so much I cant shoot him, doh).

Being a HPW who dont winge every time hes killed and very rarely looks at pings I think most of you miss the main point, its about connection stability.

Be you a low or high pinger if your not set up right you are going to get lag and lots of it. At the end of the day there are some very good low pingers and some very good high pingers so lets forget about pings and think more about ppls skill level.

BTW he is the best HPW I have ever seen, would kick most of the peoples arse int his forum around at CS.

ANd he has a point if your connection has loads of lag spikes, or u get cl_flush errors, then your connection is not suitable for online gaming, u need stability so you can get used to what is going to happen game wise for you.

I get 140 ish on my 56K, so I'm a halfway house (it drops to 100ms occasionally)


However, Carl1ng will always kick my arse.

I would say one thing to you m8, and you've gotta admit it, if you ran around a corner in CS and met someone head on (both of you were as surprised as each other) the LPB in the situation would win. Don't argue with it, it's true..

If u RAN round a corner you would be heard by any half decent player, this is the kind of thing that many people ignore, sounds are a big part of prediction.

I have been beaten by HPW's in that situation, its all a matter of if they know how to use magic bullets or are just good shots.

i'm a LPHPB

i don't have a high ping, or a low one, my ping averages at about 120, and i'm only on 56k. the reason us HP people hate you, is that most LPB on BW play HW, why the hell would you play HW if u had a low ping, it shows us that all you care about is score. i personally have never been 0wn3d by a lpb, i infact go looking for them, if they go HW, i go HW, and i win everytime
i like LPBs but i just don't know why everyone hates you, i plan to get adsl when i can as i am 1 mins away from the exchange. if u wanna good clan that is going up in the world head to http://theunderdoggs.cjb.net

Going up in the world with a player who I'm guessing plays TFC and does DM in this TEAM game with hwg

I mean have you actually considered some people play hwg in strong positions to hold an area of thier base ?
I know you get a lot of newbie hoping to go on a hwg rampage but simply going hwg and standing shooting at each other isnt really the way to deal with them as you seem to post in your other messages if you don't like LPB HWG then don't play on the server .

I can't stand people that think TEAM fortress classic is a flippin death match

In my clan I set up caps for my team or remove enemy defence for flag runners,I dont look at my score till the match is over and usually its around -40 by this time, does this make me a bad player in your thought's ?

Any way back to the thread topic I have 1 of the lowest pings out there at 15-20 on BW, yes it does give me some advantage but arguing about it wont change a thing, I pay for it and if you choose not to then you have to accept players like me having an upper hand, if its not in your area thats tuff .

i should of made myself clear, i meant the LP HW's that don't defend but walk round the map spamming and occasionly camping in the nme base. and i play TFC as it is, a team game, but u forget one on one encounters become deathmatch.

i was a HW, and i went into no mans land (the middle of the map) i met an LP HW who as we started shooting at the same time, killed me in one second, all my health and armor stripped in one second? that doesn't happen with HP HW's, so whats going on?

So lets get this straight your saying because he had a better ping about 100-200 milli seconds faster than you that enabled him to kill you I'm guessing with your full 300 armor and full 100 health in 1 second

Ping would not do this if you had full health and armor unless he was using the speed cheat and you would have noticed that
