Rant White Christmas?

OK, it's boxing day, so I don't mind ranting now xmas is over.

The beeb's running a story with the title "Snow gives parts of UK first white Christmas since 2004"...

Edinburgh, Glasgow, Nottingham and Leeds were all officially "white"

It goes on to tell us about the terrible weather conditions and say scary stuff like:

"Even if a road has been salted, it doesn't mean it's safe."

Now, I live in Nottingham. It's not been snowing.

The rules are something silly like one flake has to be observed dropping by the met office. Also, you live in nottingham, that does not mean you can tell if it is snowing across the whole city.

Im not far from nottingham (whissendine in Leicestershire) and we had a lovely whiet christmas.

woke up christmas morning to see that we'd had a nice few cm's of fresh snow overnight. Perfect way to start christmas day opening the pressies with the kids

I'm in Cotgrave, just a bit south of Nottingham, we got about an inch of snow in the early hours on christmas day. All gone now, but wasn't a bad covering. Was bloody deadly yesterday though, when half of it was melted, the rest compacted ice, slippery as anything.
