Seems a bit steep at twenty five grand but i tell you what i would love to just try a sip of that sucker.

We got my dad good for his 50th, we got him a 50 yo bottle of scotch. We put it in a special bottle we got made. I filled the original bottle with Bells and then at his party started dishing it out in massive glasses and with coke ect, I could see it was driving him nuts but he did not bite

The thing is, when I was a scrote and shep was a pup and I used to go to the pub with my uncles, I used to drink scotch cos they used to sup it and I loved it then.

do do your self a favor though, and try the single barrel instead.

On the otherhand, if the purpouse is a sour mash to slash it with coke,
try to get your hands on something called Benchmark (by buffalo Trace)

I must admit, I get a better "drunk" feeling from scotch than I do JD.

I will try some this weekend. Any recomondations for stuff they sell in bars?

Well, if you have a sweet tooth,
try Glendronach 15yo, it's a pure oloroso sherry cask.
or Longmorn 16yo or Glenmorainge PX Sonnalta

If your more into vanilla and fruits
Try an old Glenlivet 20+ or Glenmorainge Signet (both very easy, very approachable)

If you get brave, try some of my favorit distilleries like
HighlandPark or Clynelish (Brora),

it's a pure pot still.
(meaning) it's destilled from both malted and unmalted barley,
this makes it different from a scottish single malt wich is distilled from malted barley only

being a purepot distances it from the majority of Irish whiskies wich are
blends

they also make a 15yo

you can also get isish single malts,
the most common ones being Bushmills 10yo and the Connemara peated whiskies

Can't say I drink Whisky/Whiskey alot to be honest, I do appreciate it very much though. No problem drinking blends or cheap malts with coke/lemonade but seeing a fine malt with any other mixer than water/ice annoys me. The whole point of the better stuff is that it has developed a distinct flavour and isn't brute force get you drunk and make your eyes bleed like a blend.

Tried a 30year old Llagavulin last year took a sip and it evaporated inside my mouth pretty much.

If i ever win the lottery i'm going to buy bottles like this and 100,000 bottles of whine and then use them for cooking or give them to tramps.
