Just watching the box set of season 2 TNG, and got me thinking about which TNG doc I prefer.

While Pulaski is entertaining and fairly kick arse in her approach, I have to say Crusher in the episode 'The naked now' was hillarious so am undecided on these two...but then we have to factor in McCoy, Julian Bashir, the EMH from Voyager and Dr Phlox just to be fair (and I've met him irl and he is really cool, but that's beside the point, is character is the one in question here).

I do like the EMHs sarcasm but Bones had the element of grouch that was always entertaining...if you were in space and needed medical assistance, which Star Trek Doctor would you prefer to be treated by?

Original Bones, deffo, all the rest don't seem to have any...umm...well i can't remember any! :p

Except that TNG bitch who always seemed a bit...well...bitchy. In a smug way.

She has no 'training', or 'qualifications', but I 'd let her practice on me.

ez, Bashir is not played by the same actor that did BSG, they just look similar.

Bones is classic, but Bashir had great episodes and storylines in DS9, him and Colm Meany signing Jerusalem while drunk is still a fave :) The Doc for Voyager was the only good thing about that show.

So a 3 way split for me.

i only watched a few eps of the new BSG, I really liked the original one and was so disgusted with Dr Bashir cavorting about with a cylon tart I gave up in...well in disgust. But now I must seek him and beg his forgiveness for besmirching his reputation :(

She was so hot, and modelled lingerie. Win.

I was all like "Yo, Bashir, you sure did manage to top that Trill bitch, you the man dog"

then I found out it wasn't him.

Dr. Phlox was one of the best things in Enterprise actually.

Fave has to be the EMH. Robert Picardo put some shine on what is in my opinion the biggest Star Trek turd. Get an episode where he and Seven were in action at the same time and you usually had some great TV. Otherwise it was usually very dull stuff. Nearly every bloody episode in Voyager was some anomoly solved by talking pseudo-science for 20 mins then a light show to finish off usually coupled with some photon-torpedo acting. The supposed tension between the Starfleet crew and the naughty rebels they had to team with was bungled throughout and half the cast just looked bored. No opportunity to hoover any tension out of a scene was missed. They even managed to turn the Borg from the ultimate badasses into just another generic baddy.

Although panned by a lot of people, I liked Enterprise way better than Voyager and the last series was great fun, even though the very last episode was a bit of a squib.

I agree 100% with what Roo said, Enterprise was good viewing, and as for the last episode, that is what happens when a show is cancelled mid way through a story arc.

I'd like to add though, that your Voyager description is flawed. It should read:

"every bloody episode in Voyager was some anomoly solved by Janeway talking pseudo-science 20 mins before the episode ended, and single handedly defeating whatever anomaly (yes another new nebula) or enemy they faced, ignoring the crew completely."

Oh shite rofl I forgot to add the Bones McCoy from the star trek movie, who (imo) was the best character in the whole film and made me leap in my seat and go yippeeee like a ribena berry when he said the 'Dammit Jim I'm a doctor not a whatsit' thing \o/

I quite liked Voyager. I also thought the EMH was great, I liked his little side story that unfolded over the seasons.

EMH. He had the best character development of any ST character ever.
