Which sabre style to counter other sabre styles?

What I mean is if your opponent is on a heavy stance which style would you adopt to combat him etc?

Oponent is on:
heavy
medium
fast

I agree with Zey

It all depends on the skill of your opponent and what style YOU personally feel confortable with. The beauty of this game is that one style can kill another. So it depends on the skill of the player and not just the damage the blade can dish out in one style over another.

I honestly dont think there's a true counter to styles. E.G. Blue is best when used against Red. I think there are different tactics that can be used to take out the other fella using certain styles but not the styles themselves

I also agree with Zey, it more depends on what you like & what your opponent is doing, ie if (s)he is just doing the usual Red Stance>Jump>Forward (Big Red Finisher) continuosly, then a Blue Backstab does the trick nicely - or even the odd SabreToss.

I normally go for Yellow, as it's a good balance of speed & power, but I will use the other two as I feel - it keeps them on their toes, esp. if you swap stances with your sabre turned off!

you can tell which stance they're using by (a) the way they hold the saber when standing still and (b) the swings they use. fast and short = light/blue, long and slow = strong/red, inbetween = medium/yellow.

Personally I use medium, and have found the medium cartwheel damages even people crouched in a corner defensively

To counter strong stance, I recommend medium, especially the sweeps left and right, just sidestep the attack and swing at their back.

To counter medium, light seems best if you can get the right attacks, the spins seem to be evil against medium.

To counter light, either use light and pray or try medium and go for the back as they spin past.
