we are doing, just want a little feedback first to see what you guys currently feel/want - gives a good indication of how effective marketing is and what your budgets are like ;)

sounds like someone's a little biased ;)

I'm not saying the 8500 is quicker, far from it :D but wait until we post the feature before u make any decisions :)

agreed, where possible I'm going to start linking other reviews of products from ours so that you guys can get some kind of informed idea about products before you go laying down your hard earnerd deniros ;)

Sorry, but I've heard claims that ATI's next part will be really quick a few times before. Rage128 didn't exactly set my world on fire you know :)

Well, yesterday I took receipt of final production silicon of the 7500 and 8500 cards so look out for a review early next week!

The ATI 8500 is as fast if not faster in most benchmarks to the GF3 TI500 but tbh neither are that much faster than a bog standard GF3 and its been out some time now.

Funny that, aint what our benchmarks indicate...

Also it looks like something less-than-legitimate is going on with the ATI card and Quake 3, but more on that when the article lands tomorrow!

3dmark 2001 is better some games aren't but I no doubt it will improve with new drivers just like GF cards when the Det 4s were released although by then Nvidia will most probably be shipping the GF4 ;)

Tomorrow as in Wednesday I take it :)

Hmm, so if you've read HardOCP you'll know about our quackifier, whaddya think - cheat or tweak?

LOL, if it's a feature why don't they either a. mention it in their press releases as I'm sure it would be a selling point, and seeing as it makes quite a difference to visual quality why isn't there a control panel option to turn it off...!!

Caught with their pants down I think!

OK, read it now. Are they saying that they sacrifice visual quality in Q3 for framerates or that they've optimised the visual quality in Q3 too ?

The only article about visual quality I could see was in German and the download screenies from HardOCP aren't going to be much use to me at work in 256 colours :/

features are forced into lower modes or switched off entirely in favour of more FPS. When we disabled the 'optimisations' in the driver it ran 30% slower but looked a LOT nicer.

Ooh, that's shitty :/

I was kinda tempted with the 8500 nearly...
