Hi n3wbie

I'll just check this, but Office 2000 or XP (or 2003) should work with Windows XP Pro. I'm surprised that '97 didn't, to be honest.

Anyway, I'll just check :)

Kind regards

Edit ~ Office 2000, XP and 2003 should be fine (perhaps 97 would work under 'Application Compatibility Mode?')

did you try it without application compatibility? Don't forget we had NT4 kicking around by then and it worked on there fine.

Try it without app compatibility and the latest service packs from officeupdate.microsoft.com

I installed Office 97 on my new XP Home system last week, no problems, no compatibility needed, works fine.

If you can get a new one, do. The improvements in stability after 97 are worthwhile.

Features wise XP doesn't have much over 2000, though 2003 has a bit of a GUI polish, if not much in the way of revolution.

Trouble is, there's not much in the way of innovation in the Word Processor industry.

Edit ~ Just merged your posts for you ~ Jonty :)
