lol...radeon is fucking shite. why? cos it's made by ATi...meaning the drivers for it will have been coded by blind, mute and deaf paraplegic monkeys on crack.
A GF2 GTS will probably be a better bet than the SDR Radeon. The SDR was meant to compete against the GF2 MX. If you can get a 32Meg DDR Radeon its a different story however. Then I'd go with the Radeon.
ATi's drivers reputation is a bit of a myth these days. The new Radeon drivers are suppsedly really rather good, and there's a new unified set on the way soon (supposedly). The only issues that remain are mainly to do with VIA chipsets, but most graphics drivers apart from 3dfx's seem to have issues with these.
Hi Tom,
at last you have a Geforce2.... lucky bastard. I'm still on my CirrusLogic GL5446 with 1MB RAM. Anyway, the new comps in the pipeline. either a poweroid Athlon 900mhz or Mesh 1ghz, dunno yet. see ya soon.
I've been running a Radeon 64mb DDR for a few weeks and can't fault it. No idea of speed comparisons as I've never owned a GEForce longer than 2 hours. (Pile of crap drivered shite)
The Radeon is way faster then the V5 5500 I took out, everything looks just as pretty too. 3DMark score around 3000 in 1024*768 @ 32bit and the rest default.
3000 i get 3000 with my MX running on a celeron400 128mbram etc. I would expect more from a radeon 64ddr.
Anyway, get a GF2 hazzer, it is amazeing, whatever you do don't get a V5 because it is cheap, My friend had 1 and it was p00p. The FSAA is meant to be nice but that is about it. No support for T&L which is freaking nice (although only a handfull of games now are programmed specifically for Hardware T&L, the games which do support it look f00king great.
If you ever have any problems with your Radeon, the boards at http://www.rage3d.com are a great source of help. They are possibly the nicest people on the net, and no matter your problem, someone will always try and help you out. They didnt even laugh at me for still having a Rage Fury (much)
Never really like hitman, it didn't have somthing that i crave for in games but sadly i don't know what that thing is. I enjoyed playing it but i didn't buy it. Mainly because it doesn't have multiplayer and killing AI is a lot less entertaining than killing a real peep.
Hitman = assasination FPS kinda game, fucking HARD, and hampered by serious control issues - made it pretty much unplayable for me so I gave up. Looked nice though.
