Lots of posts on this around, many would say the ATI card was cheaper/performance and they might be right, many would say there where other good reasons for getting the nVidia card and they might be right too ;)

All depends what games you play as to if its worth upgrading to. I wouldnt just for DAOC.

asking this is like asking:

Porsche Cayman S
or
Aston Martin DB9

I got a Xantia Break
Is it worth upgrading?

Depends on how you use your car... If you've got kids, I'd highly advice against it. If you cruise the autobahn a lot, I'd say, yeah, go for it if you got the cash. If you want to transport goods, a totally different van-like car might be more your deal.

Can't give you any real answer on your question..

Which resolution do you play in?
If you want a card that can do 1200x1024 with 4xAA 8 AF high quality ..take the x1900xt.
If you want a slient card but abit lower grafic quality at high resolution.. take the 7900 GTO.
x1900xt support HDCP 7900 gto does not.

You can read more about it here http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/evga_e-geforce_7900_gto/default.asp

I would say personally the ATI even though I would take a 9000 BFG or EVGA or XFX over the ATI. But they are hardly comparable as the prices are totally different. What CPU you have? Unless it’s like 2500 MHz you will be bottlenecking the card anyway.

That's taking it too far, the only important factors you really need to look at when buying and comparing a graphics card is the price, brand , your system and hard gaming or light gaming / no gaming.

the best thing to buy would be a 9050 GT imo.

EVGA GeForce 7950 GT KO Superclocked 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-015-EA)

The card on OcUK is more expensive then nova because it has a higher memory clock and core clock. I would buy it because I am a NVIDIA fan boy, the drivers are much better and I generally prefer it over ATI cards. There really isn’t a lot of difference between them cards unless you overclocked you’re CPU to about 2500/2600MHZ. Ati cards generally have better image quality slightly but NVIDIA cards have better performance.

That's a bench mark on low res on some website called firingsquad that I have never been on. I would still go with the EVGA 7950GT or BFG but it isn't going to make much difference so it is up to you there both good cards, I just prefer NVIDIA any day of the week and I have won comps on both sides of the fence.
