At first looks i was thinking about VS but now NC is looking quite appealing, im torn between the three basicly :D Which Empires are underpowerd/overpowerd and which are the suffering empires? in terms of player count that is! Any help appriciated :D Cheers!

imo all the empires are pretty muched balanced except TR they have the best MAX out thereso if u wanna be uber go join them monkeys if not join NC or VS

Not much difference between the 3 as envenom said.

The maxes are differently styled, but not designed to be any better than the other factions.

Best way to choose is read the bibliography of the 3 factions, and decide if you wanna be an alien-hugger (Vanu) the big bad, once all powerful guys (Terran) or the seperatist movement (NC).

Yeah Outfits (im guessing in general) are fantastic, there hasn't been a day yet when i haven't got in an outfit squad and we actually work together and communicate. Of course i don't know if this is true in pick up squads bacuse i've rarely been in one :)

...plus i prefer VS cus of the laZors and Hover tanks....oh and i think they look cooler.

I understand that at a later date you'll be able to switch sides and take all your certs etc with you.
Should make it interesting should you get bored of one "side".

Shame DAOC could never do that.

Never heard that before, im pretty sure this wont be allowed, not certain ofc, but it doesnt make sense to allow players to change faction whenever they feel like it.

Actually, seeing as the factions are all powermongering megolomaniacs, i guess it would make sense :)

Bullshit, only over there it was called 'account swapping' and was against the CoC and left lots of kiddies getting 'h4xx0r3d' after giving out their passwords which pissed off the GMs as they'd waste their time etc etc etc ...... :p

Still cant decide :(
NC have purdy colours and nice weapons, but looks like TR zerg everyone...

imo TR = Alb, NC = Hib, VS = Mid, in daoc comparison that is :p

Any more help in choosing is appriciated :)

For general advice, go for any side where you know players. If you still can't make up your mind, go for a side which you like the background of, or just like the colour scheme. No side will be right for anyone, and there is very little advantage to be had. You can just steal the guns you like after capping the enemy anyway...I play NC, but I do like to get hold of the TR Repeater.

Naaah VS=Hib(all magical crap and whatever) TR=Mid(evil bastards who want to oppress everyone)NC=Alb(Freedom fighters, looking to make everyone happy and dance around with jesters and such..)

Yeah it's something they were/are considering allowing players to do if the populations become too uneven.

I can't remember where I saw that, one of the Devs maybe from when it was beta. Since the beta forums are gone now it might be hard to locate that info again.

Now before you call me a liar, I would like to point out that I gain nothing from lying about it. I may be misinformed, but I am not a liar. However to my recollection those are the facts I was privy to.

No, not bullshit my dear impetuous Jupitus, DAOC never could let you swap realms with your own account (keeping your experience and what-nots). Yes of course you could break the CoC and sell your account if you were gormless enough, but never swap realms which was my original point.

Well I'm 32 and I work for the NHS.
Well when I say work I mean sit here be un-challenged day in day out.
Gods what a waste of my skills. I hate this shit.
Spend most of my day answering the phone to fricking salesmen wanting to flog us products we can't afford or don't want.
Not to mention telling users to reboot their PC's when it goes wrong or resetting their passwords when they forget them 2 seconds after changing them.:(
If it wasn't for my lame ass bosses, it's be great, it's just that everyone of them is affraid to stand up and shout when our funding is taken every fricking year for some other departments needs, so we end up using zx81's and are expected to support everyone else who use fricking xeon based systems to type fricking letters!

And, yes my boss does monitor everything we do on the internet, so I hope he reads this!
