Where to learn 1v1?

Right, there must be some crap people apart from me who want to play 1v1, surely? Every time I get a game on Barrysworld tournament servers I get a total kicking, we're talking 28-1 in a 10 minute game here.

I don't mind losing, (well that's not true, but I expect to lose a lot at the beginning) but I'm not sure I'm learning anything from getting totally whitewashed.

Anywhere else I should try playing first?

I would recommend that you get the Rocket Arena 3 mod and proceed immediately to some of the Barrysworld servers. Here u can join a 1 v 1 or Clan Arena server ( which is basically team deathmatch where when u die, u are a spectator until next round). When you play at the start you will probably get a total kicking

and want to beat my keyboard in frustration, with some uncharitable comments from certain other players such as "er it helps if u try to dodge the rockets" etc etc but I think it has still improved my play (from shite to below average. ) Then when you finally manage to nail some of your tormentors it is a great satisfaction

One of the best things u can do is spectate some of the better players when u get nailed (u will find that the same players survive the longest each time) and see what they are doing. Its a great way to improve.

I went on on of the demon FFA servers the other day after prolonged RA3 play, and while I was still getting a buttkicking in RA3, I found that FFA seemed much easier afterwards.

but that's it, barrysworld is hard
sometimes to hard

just fire loads and loads of rockets
it works for me

Personally I'm probably the UKs worst dueller in vanilla Q3. And what's more I'm damn proud!
