Where can i get linux from

i have windows98 and would like to try a diff operating system. i would like to know where linux is free to download

You can get Linux from lots of places, i hope you have at least Dual ISDN tho

If not, a good distribution that can run without having to get rid of windows 98 is Slackware's ZipSlack. You can run this distribution of Linux from a zip disk or a directory on your HDD www.slackware.com/zipslack/

The best way to go is to pick up Redhat on CD (about £20) that way you get everything you need (especially X-11 (X-Windows)) and that's what you want really (unless you like command line interfaces like DOS)

see if you can get PC Plus Issue May 1999 from someone or get a back issue from future publishing, it had Redhat on the coverdisk.
