Little story before I post the picture. (story contiunes after photo too)
Okay, I was up till 4AM last night, talking on Yahoo Messenger to a friend who I haven't spoken to. Was browsing FH, my Pryd's guild forum and my alliance forum and talking to my GF at the same time... All was good and well, now - I go to sleep - Then I wake up when I hear my door close which was GOTRAG (key person in this story) leaving my house going home or to college or where ever.
As my usual routine, I turned my PC on and what do I see? My whole screen is in a HTML document which was supported by "Antivirus GOLD" some desktop hijacker and on the desktop I saw a xxx-dialer, and I'm pretty sure I didn't go on porn last night. Fine I though - I can remove all of this - Installed norton again (which you can see in the photo) Did it, did a scan - didn't help. Ended up going through safe mode and msconifg to remove things that shouldn't be there. IT WORKED! Wh00t!.. Both were gone.
Then I opened IE, and this is what I saw ;o (I changed it to explain some stuff)
Okay, now - this was annoying since I though I removed everything. But I didn't
I had to remove that which meant going through my registery and deleting certain keys. Fixed it.
Got norton installed and had found 7 new viruses Which is really funny since I managed to get my intenet connection and PC working yesterday morning
So it took under 24 hours for Gotrag to fill my PC with: XXX-Dialers, Adware, Spyware, Viruses. Oh, and what made it even funnier was that he cleared all my cookies/history so I had to relog into everything. (This is what made it obvious, as I'd been on all my usual sites and logged into them before I slept)
Now I'm doing a virus scan and am hopefully removing those 7 silly viruses.
Oh, btw Got: If it wasn't you I apoligise. Because I know it wasn't me.
