Hi there. I've been having a problem with dark age of camelot since a month ago (a month afther I upgraded from 1g ram to 2g ddr400, coincidence?). I got fed up of this and decided to format computer and install a brand new Windows XP version, with everything updated (drivers, framework etc etc).

Now I have finished installing Dark Age of CAmelot and it's expensions up to LoTM. When I get into the game (it loads fine), once I'm in the character selection pannel computer freezes and if it doesn't, it does while I'm playing the game. (Have checked temperature and it's on normal scale always under 47ºC)

Also as side note, I must add that before computer crashes I hear a very soft "pip" inside computer and another sound that I can't identify, right afther this happens, comp crashes. (Before I formated from 0, comp didn't crash, it only freezed but was constant: I mean, comp was like this sometimes: "pip" (another sound from some device) and mini freeze, and so over and over but without crashing computer).

Any help is apreciated, don't know what else to do.

Hi there, your issue resembles one I already have posted topic about - game freezes.

It still does freeze on my desktop computer so I have had to play using my dell laptop which seems to work ok - thank god. Got the same expansion as well. In my case just before the crash the sound goes all weird, maybe its a sound driver issue?

which operating system you were running (prior the reformatting)?

I had Win XP pro with SP 2 and it lasted fine for over 2 years. Now I'm running same version I had and with everything updated, like always.

Just experienced 15 min ago, while in daoc my comp would do all time "pip" and some device sound again for like 40 seconds, then it totally freezed.

Also when running 2 instances I have experienced that when the "pip" freezes start, it only affects to ONE of the two game instances I'm running in same comp.

Weird, isnt it?

Figured out last night that dualcore AMD caused my "random" LD's
(you prolly have pentium considering the temperature)

But in your case its a complete freeze of the whole system :/

Hmm all drivers up to date? (VIA drivers aswell?)
Anddd remove a memory bank just to test :)

I remember once having those pip/sissing noises aswell.. just cant recall what it caused :S
