As the title says when are Hibbies gonna learn that when u hear on /as that there are 3-6 fg in emain do not run out there in yer little one fg as you are gonna get eaten alive.
I am sick to death of having to spend the entirety of prime time either playing ranger or not even online becoz of the vast numbers of Mids and Albs farming the shite out of us. When are you people going to get tired of getting farmed at primetime and start to realise when 6 fg being seen in emain its time maybe to get a couple of other groups together to fight with you so that you will have a little longer run then the time it takes you to get to emain.
I know i am probably gonna get flammed for daring to suggest people should zerg but ffs how many times you people need to release before you realise you are getting farmed and farmed hard. OOOh and if any of you wanna tell me how weell you were doing all night all i can say is you are full of bs as i was in emain for a good three hours tonite and trust me all i seen is grey ds and red ds with occasional bit of green.

Is RVR always like this lately, ive not rvr'd for a long time with my tank so last few nights i thought id go back to it. Took me both nights over 2 hours just to get a grp, shouting yelling lfg etc etc.

When i finally get one our 1fg of hibs seem to be constantly outnumbered by fgs of albs and mids zerges.

is this how RVR is nowadays i know Hib always has had the lowest population on this server but just seemed so noticeable last few days

zergs are annoying yes, and yes we are the least populated realm on excal, so i just think of it like if theres alot more people on the server on other realms, then alot more people are gonna wanna rvr, and we cant just blame them for wanting to rvr ;p

Was quite certain unemployed and kids were running perfect fitted gank groups (after spendind tons of hours of unemployed time makeing perfect toons) while employed people with a family log a few hours in the evening (with their gimped low RR toons) and just wanna have some fun without beeing steamrolled... and so zerg.

Nope, I'd say you were far from wrong. Probably the best "in a nutshell assessment" of the DAoC playerbase I've seen.

Those with the most time to play are typically those with the least RL committments.

They are:

1) Lottery jackpot winners - I doubt these make up a substantial portion of the player base.

2) Schoolkids

3) College/University students

4) The Unemployed.

5) Single people not interested in seeking a partner.

6) Single people too smelly to attract a partner.

7) People with no RL friends who would much rather be uber in DAoC.

8) Lucky people who are well paid, work few hours and have a partner who loves to play DAoC as much as they do. (swines!)

9) whatever I missed.

For everyone else, those with jobs, family, friends and various other RL commitments, there just isn't the time to make multiple TOA'd toons to form these high RR FOTM gank groups.

And so the zerg cometh.

If Mythic make the game easier for the casual player to compete more effectively in RvR, maybe it would induce players to roam in single groups more, rather than zerg.

Well the key question for you then is how many hours a week do you work and how many hours a week do you play DAoC? Then what do you do with the time thats left over.

In short, are you managing to juggle work, RL stuff, a relationship and DAoC altogether and still managing to field uber FOTM toons?

If so. How are you doing this? Its something many of us would appreciate tips on.

I work have 2 kids wife and i used to be able to find time to get casual RVR grps only a few k from RR5. But since toa thats gone down the pan.

With looking after kids etc never can play that long in one session and have no chance of getting ML3 done tried last 3 months so can't get many RVR grps as they all want BG ml8 etc.

So the casual RVR seems lately out the window for me, only action i see now is if i want to play in Battle grounds. Or maybe get the odd RVR grp after 2 hours of lfg but by then i have to log for work kids wife etc

Imo I think your thread has very good point -
I dont think anyone REALLY phears hibs anymore - BC are out in emain daily now it seems and I think they had 2 fgs there yesterday but I could be wrong - regardless .. our 1fg ran into 2fg of HIGH RR mids and those mids had at least 5 support classes in the background playing a good game and keep the heals and mezzs coming ..

I think that there were times before when Vigilance were running 2 full groups and vengeance and LA were constantly active but those days are wearing thin ..

DH are gone .. Old Vengeance are gone...Vigilance are gone and I personally just wonder ...who are gonna replace them ?

Lot of people in DL hanging onto the old 'we are eleet and we only run with elet' attitude but tbh ...a huge number of the leet have hung up their cloaks and no one is really up and coming cause how are any of them supposed to get rps when they are being farmed ?

I was out there 2 days ago with a fg and we came across a fg of hibs fighting 2 fg of mids and the hibs were getting owned and one of the higher rr and more proud hibs yelled - dont add newbs

Was quite funny ..was standing in DL and Celtic Leaf Army stuck up together with 2 fgs and moved out into emain and someone said /s fucking random newb zergers and I /laughed at him -- i moved out with his group and we got farmed after a few minutes and all I could see was CLA pwning with deathspam from the other side of emain ...

was always like this: running 2 fg's when 6fg's of the other's realm are out = zerg, but who cares. Zerg is, by common definition, outnumbering your enemy and I don't think 2fg's can ever outnumber 6fg (well maybe if they change the maths, but else, no). Just relax, get 2fg's and get RP's. It must be 2 weeks since I played Hib, but the attitude is sickening. Every other realm sticks together in times of need, just hibbies would prefer dieing as 1fg to a zerg than beating it with 2fg's.....well, not my problem at all, everyone is free to play the game as they wish. I'm pretty sure someone will yell TD now, but oh wait, we got 2mill RP's last week.

Well, what I mean is: Running as fg can be a very cool thing if you can have nice fights, but if it turns to be really stupid, like facing zergs all over or going to Emain just to release, then it's time to stick together and lay off the (RP-) cow-costume.

At bloody last people are beginning to get the jist of what i am driving at. My point ith this post is to try and get people to try and work together as a realm a bit more, not saying we should make up a 6fg zerg and go do what the albs do so well but rather to try and cooridnate a little better when we do hear 6fg in emain.
If people havent realised NF is just around the corner and people need to start getting used to the idea of using /bg's and /cg's as everyhting i am reading is pointing to this game becoming one massive zerg fest. Now for me personally i play my ranger a lot so the zergs i see in emain i can avoid generally but i am sick of watching peeps getting owned in emain on a contiouos basis. There is no point taking 40 odd hibb's to odins and HW to avoid the masive numbers in emain but rather lets give em a taste of there own medicine gather up and screw em over rather then drip feed the beast all night till they all go to bed.
