Why do I see so many animists in RvR nowadays?

They're very annoying.

Especially "Inglorious".

Well 50% of hibernia will have a pve animist with arti encounters coming out their ass. Under the new arti credit system takes hardly any effort at all to toa ur animist out for a run or two...

Well....personally I play animist cause after Druid and Bard I wanted something else. I rolled her long ago, but I never managed to get her artis done, but now it was finally possible =)

I know you're just trying to whine, but you'll have to accept this now :p

When I was trying to roll a new char after bard+druid I still had a chantress at lvl 37, but it wasn't really what I wanted to play. Chanters were pretty common by then, so I wanted something different. I started various mages with crazy specs, like void eldritch or even a mentalism/light spec menta (nono, not light/mentalism, 41menta, 35light was my plan), but it wasn't what I really expected, so I rolled an arboreal animist.

I saw an arboreal ani video long ago and I thought that would be pretty cool to play like this. Well, I got a few artis to lvl now, then I'm running out for sure =) (if some other ppl decide to play bard that is :p )

I'm glad there seem to be more animists in open field RvR. A new class entering the fold is great for diversity (warlocks aside) :D It's especially nice to see that people seem to be doing well with new, somewhat unexplored specs on the server.

Keep fights are a different matter though ^^ But then again, for me anyway, keep fights will never be as fun as they used to be :(

We played with high rr animist in sg on lyonesse , and it worked quite well. Ani got many things to play with, and if he knows what to do , it can be very lethal. Haven't seen very decent anis in rvr on pry yet, but we will see if there will be any who can play that class well enough. There is a lot more potential in that class than pveing.

Don't wanna give ideas to hibs tho, I'm fine without good anis in rvr tbh, they can be very annoying if played well.

They are way underestimated, mebbe not up there with bainshee/elds but if start to rank with the other hib casters can put them alongside chanters/ments.

Frontloaded damage from stacking bombers/lifetap/con debuff is evil, lifetap is energy and resists are shit anyway, and 2-3 tanglers in backfield does a good job of dealing with tanks/pets (never stay mezzed cos of bl crap).

heh, quite fun, warlock was allso frontloaded dmg, yet when animist whit 15 shrooms and instakill do same? its "new" and fun class to play ;)
yet, personally have seen several time and enough, animist in rvr, allways when there was RR in OF animists was planted relickeep front full of instadeath shrooms.
animist have indeed limited use but in keep fights/standoffs its one of most strongest class in game.

Actually the term frontloaded is wrong for an animist, its backloaded really.

And if you dont see the difference in an animist casting 3 bombers IN YOUR FACE instead of a warlock casting 3 balls IN BLEDMEER you're even more clueless then you showed so far here.
That's the difference in open fights when you fight an animist, or a warlock.

If you win mez and shoot 5+ bombers out before the 1st hit's the target then tap for the added damage you can do loads of damage with an Animist, however don't try that near a keep or a bridge or any area with crap pathing, better stick to shrooms there ;)
Rather underrated class imo.

you didnt get it?
when theres 15 shrooms planted in one place, and you get IN YOUR FACE same time all those 15 shrooms, its faster kill what 1 warlock never could reach, animist who think he is sorc or rm, play wrong his class.
allways find "fun" one animist who casted inside tree full of shrooms and just run circle waiting someone to "challenge" him.

warlock is/was probably op, never played other realms so far i meet those in mature rvr, but same kind op caster is animist standing next 15 shrooms.
whitout shrooms underpowered.

You do realise that you don't have to melee an animist? It can be nuked down..thus being safely out of range from his ever so challenging shrooms.

This post is about animists in open field rvr which hasn't been seen much until now, totally different situation from keep seiges where nobody denies they are OP.
