Whats the greatest game since HL?

Since Half Life i havnt fallen in love with too many PC games. Is this because the PC market maybe losing its ongoing battle with the consoles and game developers are flogging towards them? Or is it jes me being ignorant? Dont get me wrong though, there may be new games that people love, just not me anymore. Remember such gr8s like Grim Fandango and Total Annihilation? They were at the top of their class for too long, wheres the nu bunch?

I love Black and White and after playing the demo am quite sure im going to love Op Flashpoint (if it will run on my ageing PC)

Playing Operation Flashpoint for hours and days solidly. Been late for work four times since I bought it.

Not done that since Half-Life first came out.

Yeah agreed, flashpoint is a top game. The games massive play areas and multi choice vehicle and troop selections should make for some intresting online action when they release the server. It's pretty cool on a lan too, we were bashing last night in a co-op, it's fun allright Atm myself im playing startopia and still pluging away at nascar 4, next week when i finally go bb with the cable, it's gona be nascar all the way on multi player There's something about 40 player races that beats the good o'l split screen

I found Flashpoint very frustrating, much for the same reasons as Hidden and Dangerous. The engine is partly to blame, and there are several bugs. Having said that, its a bloody good laugh playing multiplayer and haring around in tanks/helicopters (often running each other over). Shame the network code is so laggy really (again, like H&D).

Anarchy Online will be my next life-eater (if they fix the fucking server...)

Carmageddon 2 and Age of Kings also stand out as games I've spent weeks playing. Next big thing I'm looking forward to is Freelancer. I've waited for a modern Elite-type game for sooooo long...

Anarchy Online looks like a hugely ambitious idea, similar in scope to WWII Online, which has also been plagued by major flaws and looks like it could quickly loose a large portion of its huge following as a result. Hope they both work out.

The plot reads like shit, though. "...the ongoing conflict between revolutionary rebels and the mighty Omni-Tek corporation, and ultimately play a key role in deciding the fate of the planet, Rubi-Ka..."

Flashpoint has bugs allrighty. after jumping in a car then trashing into a tree, i found myself crawling back to the rv. For some strange reason the chap wouldn't stand up unless i put the 16 on his back

Totally agree with you on the elite online m8. I was at the main elite 4 fan site on sunday afternoon, some of the stuff there had me wishing the game was only weeks away, not 2-3 years You could be right about freelancer, but both eva online and earth and beyond both look promising too But i still hope elite 4 tops the pile

Tomb Raider 1 & 2 were quite decent.

Only recently been playing CS. Never had a PC decent enough to cope with the games

The only game i've completed after Half-Life is Serious Sam - really good fun, excellent graphics - great game.

I'm in the process of working through Deus-Ex at the moment - way cool game too
