Whats going on?

Is it just me, or have you guys seen a marked increase in LD's lately? I have a cable modem and have had 3 LD's in 3 months.

Untill the patch appeared that is.....I went LD 7 times already today and its only 9:50pm!!!!

WTF is going on?

It's almost impossible to xp and RvR in the BattleGrounds is just as bad!!!
Hell I can't even bloody craft!

I just ld'ed 10 times in an hour, yesterday was one ld every 3 hours.

There has defo been an increase since patch.

Me 2, Rarly used to LD. Now I am getting it all the time, since patch. Thing Is my connection doesnt drop its just the data flow to the game does.... You must have all seen it when you freeze up and suddenly everything jumps back into life... Sometimes you get lucky sometimes you get link dead.... I think the client is constantly sending and receiving data to the game servers. If the client cannot send for a certain duration it LD's you.

Seems loads of people are having the same problem, I see my friends list fluctuating a lot more now, and everone is generally commenting on the large amount of LD's and freeze ups.

Once again, GOA wont do feck all about it so I aint even gonna bother trying to tell them, you get zero feedback from them. Probably some sort of bandwidt issue with their gateway onto the internet,? who knows with these muppets...

My theory (and just a stab in the dark) is that the Bandwidth to the servers is being exhausted as people are still downloading this patch. Perhaps the data flow to upload the patch is much more than the the usual data flow consumed by just playing the game. Hopefully things will settle down over the next week or so. But Like I say GOA wont do feck all about it, I wouldnt even bother Emailing them. Such a pity we have zero support in this game... Would only take a reasonably intelligent person to figure out whats causing this and investigate.

I used to have a sterling connection to DAoC, with something like 3 LDs between march and june, but I have been going LD all the time for the past couple of weeks. For me, at least, it started well before the patch.

A long shot but could this be because of the downfall of KPNQWest backbone? They are taking it down currently and I would guess that it has a major effect at least temporarily.

Could be of course something else too, or many things together....

No, it appears to be a problem with Wanadoo (the french ISP that is both owner of and backbone provider to GOA). Somewhere, possibly at the Bagnolet access point, they have a router that keeps going nuts. It comes back almost immediately but it is often down just long enough to cause hundreds of players to simultaneously disconnect.

GOA says on their home page that they know it's a problem and they're trying to track it down.
