WHatever happened to yggdra and uplands exp?

okay its true, i took a 4 month break from upplands and yggdra hunting to go on a gap year round the world trip. but now i'm back and shocked and in disarrey about the lack of people i meet in upplands and yggdra.

what happened to the exp groups that used to be there?when i used to take my lvl 38 shade there i would come accross many green/blue/yellow cons there all exping happily, and would pretty fast fall victim to my target when i tried to assinate someone,

what happened to the roaming defense u had of these areas that 9 out of 10 times would send me packing?

in short why did u stop using it? and stop me having fun???

I do actually go there from time to time, but usually when exping in yggdra, you don't get to decide yourself how long you stay - It's garanteed you'll be killed by a nightshade or infiltrator.

Guess that's why nobody's out there anymore...

well i guess we stopped because we found out it was a lot safer and better xp'ing in myrkwood, varulvhamn (??) and spindelhalla

ive been to upland a few times and mostly i got my self killed by some 50 or close to 50[insert race and class here]... and the xp wasnt much better that what u get in the caves (varulv and spindel) or myrkwood....

all in all i think ppl got tired of the random mincer / wizzy comming running and n00kin the fart out of the entire grp... having all release and be in hagger (at the time... plus its the nearest healer)....


i did have a fun xperience out there once.... me and a allmost full grp (ca. lvl 20) ran around near svasut... then some rouge armsman came runnig....:uhoh:

we all started /bow'ing and /curt'ing him (pre tour macros all made )and he didnt touch us ... then some wizzy came running along and he didnt kill all our arses eighter....

the wizzy for some bizzar reason sat and we all agreed on trying to off him :swords: .... it took us aprox ½ min to get his hits 1/4 down he then stood up pbaoe mezzed us and they both ran a way

PS. What's the reason to exp in uppland indeed - caves/malmo are much better exp-wise.

i know, its just sad that i no longer get my butt kicked by blue con groups there anymore. its like the end of an era, and i'm sure that u can't get a better feeling then killing the stealther who just killed one of your group, even better if he is an orange con!

I still xp my alts at yggdra from lvl 20-22, and 22-24 in upplands

It is THE fastest solo xp at those levels.

And if I spot an invader, I log on my Thane for some easy rps.

You go to Yggdra/Uppland to exp death expers. One day you run up there to engage in the slaughtering of our expers and realise that there's no longer any people there and you wonder why?

When we played in Upp/Ygg and got ganked by squads of purples every 15 minutes, we complained.

The albs and hibs all said "It's the froniter, don't whine when we kill you; either deal with it or XP elsewhere."

So we dealt with it the same way that albs and hibs deal with it in their frontiers - we all went to XP elsewhere.

These days Ygg and Upp are almost always empty. I thought about doing some XP there myself this weekend, but a /who ygg showed me that with no-one else to group with, it was going to be a solo session. Then I remembered all the grey-ganking that goes on, and decided not to bother anyway.

Strange thing is, in all the time I've spent XPing in Varul or Spindy recently, I've not been TWEPed by an alb or hib purple con ONCE.

If your days of RP farming in Ygg/Upp are over, it doesn't take a genius to work out why ...

oi i never exp killed anyone!
in fact i helped a group kill a snow crab once....before they all bludgeoned me to death.

and i got killed as a grey con myself so many times that i know what it feels like, but if i had a chance to get fast exp, and maybe some rvr action too i'd take it.

which is why i normally exp near dun ailline for those intrested!

A 50th Paladin actually helped me in Yggdra Forest once. I kept using his Aggrovation spell to pull monsters, and I took care of them.

Albs and Hibs decided to end it for everyone, with a crap sense of cummunity now inplace on prydwen and getting worse now the NP zerge's are daily the games becomming shite on our server, wish they'd piss off back to exc, just my view dont care for any replys on this its off-topic .

With the addition of DF and more grey gankers less people xped there
Given that Albs and hibs had given up xping out on frontiers way before that..due to mids early control over frontiers..

But DF is much better xp/cash

and now that the Guards/patrols are way tougher and hellishly aggro small groups of enemy or solos are very rare so only mass zergs or FGs of High levels come into Midgard now thus totally stamping on xping out there...

there are still some hardy souls out there and I still do some patroling out there but many times i go out and patrol and have zone to self no invaders no expers

No need to exp in frontier when there are better exp elsewhere. With better I mean exp over time...exp over time tends to go down when you face the dirt and need to transport back.

tbh i go to svasud with alt late at night when there arent any vendo groups. and i xp.
the latest verion of Swords did that. and she hit 24 pretty fast as the camp bonus was good.

The risk of some moron killing you is lessened with the fact im bound a few feet away...

Nobody seems to have mentioned the Healer quest mobs that kill lowbies who are exping in the area close by Vindsaul gates. That's the real reason nobody exps there. I mean, people used to get killed there regularly, but did it stop them going there? No.

Well saw a few xpers in Uppland last night and what happens, some stealther decides to kill them off, not 1 time but everytime they head out from the gates. Tried to find him with my shaman, but he didt attack, guess he need greycons.

What killed Yggdra as an active RvR zone was bindstone in Svasud. The zone is now pretty much out of the way for most warparties, so the roaming defence is gone.

Upplands still has it's fair share of xpers. I'm not into killing grey cons, or giving xp deaths, but due to the population of buffbots in midgard, there are plenty of high level targets there. You only need to kill a couple of people, and middies flood out of the pk to find you too, giving you even more targets. Probably not a good place to hunt at level 38 anymore though... Shammy buffbots can still hurt with their poison
