What video editing software do you pple consider best for making DAoC movie (source from Fraps)?

Is Pinnacle Studio 9 good choice for it?

p.s. sorry if this is offtopic, but seemed most suiting here cause it's closely relative with DAoC creativity activities.

Wrong forum, try tech help or even better try searching the forums for your answer. (hint search for fraps!)

But yes, Fraps is still the preferred method.

Get a matrox card with DV out and go from DAoC PC > Movie PC.

Pinnacle is easy enough to use but Adobe Premier is probably better. I always find Pinnacle studio a little unreliable (crashes a lot on large movies). You might want to try Microsoft movie maker, lot of people put it down but it's a free download (windows update does it) and is damn easy to use (quite similar to imovie on the mac).

Pinnacle Studio, aswell as Microsoft Moviemaker are very easy programs. However - personally i prefer using Adobe Premiere for the job. Premiere can seem abit confusing at first - but it's a good choice tho. I'd recommend looking for tuts incase u wanna learn how to use it :)

Good luck on u'r moviemaking career ;)

TMPGEnc / DVD2AVI

That's a winning combo for me :) perhaps a bit tricky at first since it's by far a WYSIWYG editor but they are totally free and can do just about anything you could dream up :)

Pinnacle, Premier - both are commercial software. Windows movie maker is freeware software but works in Windows XP only.

(ofc with some video boards u get Pinnacle as a freebie version, or some light version of Premier - use it then).

Take a look at all those fancy DAOC-movies around ..

It's not like you need Adobe Premiere or another of those expensive proggies to get some footage of cheap rvr-scenes underlined with heavy metal music.

Take VirtualDub for editing and if you wanna have some fancy effects you should prolly get Avisynth and some GUI for it.

Most important: forget all the crap like wmv, mov or rm.
Deinterlace your video (!) and take some state-of-the-art mp4-codec for video and ofc mp3 for audio (although there is actually better stuff than mp3 around you should stick to what ppl have installed ... you want ppl to watch your vid and not search for directshow filters on the web)

I intended to use MP3 (even though AAC for example plays much nicer on same bitrate) with music better suiting to RPG - deftly not hmetal. For video I was planning to make VHQ MPEG2 stream (with HW card I won in competition) and then VDub/XVid it with official XVid.

Considering deinterlacing - that mistake not to do it I did only once, cured 4ever from it I hope.

Fancy effects - I don't wish to make overeffected disco shot. I just wanted to comfortably be able of cutting, maybe sometimes split screen on quarters and record fight with some mob from more angles (ofc from 4 mobs ingame)and then simultaneously play them in same time, sometimes rebuild colours balance (mood colours) slightly etc, nothing shouting/eyes paining.

Thanks all for advices and once again sorry for putting this in wrong forum.
