What the heck is Spellcrafting?

Well, I've heard many people discussing about making your own magical items. But the question is...how?

I'm a newbie at this game so I don't know much about crafting. Please can someone explain in detail about this?

It's the new destroyer of the game after DF and RA's.

Basically it makes you add magical bonuses to crafted items (armour, weapons, shields, bows, instruments, staffs). How much depends on the level of the item and it's quality. The higher the level (and quality) the more you can put on.

You can always put a maximum of 4 different magical things on it. You can do less too if you want.

So for example you could put +10 strength, +10 const, +10 dexterity and +2 shield on a breastplate for a paladin (it's an example, how much really depends on level and qua of item).

You cannot get SC on merchant-bought items or on drops.

so true. game was soooooo much more fun before DF and sc'ing.

epic armour was good. drops was worth farming and so on..

i sure miss the old days :(

ps: Ra's was quite good tho as it brouth life to rvr :)
but no a 100% good solution tho.

DF is in its own way nice and makes RvR more active.

RA is just wrongly implemented with a few to strong abilities (it should be nice to have but not make you uber).

But SC, thats indeed the ruin of the game, first you had a choice between crafted high quality armor, or lower quality with stats. Resists, etc where almost never capped or only in a single line, and the casters where much more valid class to play.

ps : Alchemy I like, potions are cool but not overpowerd, procs a nice add no SCed stuff, and dyes/poisons no real influence in the game.

I like the possbilities of spellcrafting, but not the way they must be crafted. It takes up to 4 hours to overcraft a full suit, and you may not loose concentration while crafting.

And indeed, the epic armours are very nice looking compared to a simply black suit or whatever colour it may be.

Btw, spellcrafters can also enchant all stuff up to a bonus 35 %.
