What shield should i use, for shield merc?

Im gonna respec to shieldmerc - but im wondering what shield to use, to still get "melee bonuses" im using champ in mh and malice in oh atm, would be using only the champweapon after respec (battler on back)

So what shield?

Use a crafted one for fast slaming speed and to fill in stats with a proc of your choice.

u need the fastest shield u can get basically.

Are you playing a shield+dw slam and switch to two weapons Merc, or a dedicated sword+shield merc (which people will say is gimped, but will have higher dex than a sword+shield armsman, though will lack shield swipe) ?

If the shield is out a lot, one with a heal reactive proc is good.

One for fast slam spd, one with a healproc and one for the looks when afk'ing at sauvage/snowdownia.

So you need 3 shields basically.

Im gonna go 50 shield, no dw - it isnt gonna be gimped for the duo im gonna use it in.

Oh, u might be right, but wardens just got boosted to large shields, was thinking maybe mercs aswell, if not, medium will do

well my merc is 39 slash 42 shield 50 dw, and i use buckler of defense for slamming (2.5 spd) but for 50 weap 50 shield merc, thats probably a bad choice

if they do there is a DF shield thats large and 2.3 spd or around that fastest large shield next to mids guthlac shield - not sure if the DF shield is for all realms it drops of a prince I think Brimstone shield or so.

been debating as to make merc shield tank or make arms shield tank.

merc with shield would be interesting, but arms with shield would last longer.

what spec peoaple looking at for rr5. been thinking of 50 weapon, 42 shield 39 parry on both

get a small alacritous shield(celerity).. without DW and then not using shield 24/7 will be gimped no matter what.
