Just curious about what res you run CS or TFC in and why?

I use 1200 * 768 but am thinking about going back down to 640 * 480.

1280*960, id run it at the next one up, but I like my monitor at 1280*960 so alt+tabbing would be fucked up.

Oh and because it looks pretty dolly :)

1024x768

i did change it up but it felt weird, after playing it for 2-3 years in 1024 heh.

When i get something bigger than a 19" monitor i'll increase it :)

I run at 1024-768. It looks good at that res, and theres no loss of fps.
640 is surely too slow D0LLs innit ?

800x600, I've tried to change and I can't, old habits etc.

I know there's the old addage of the higher the res the smaller the crosshair...

But tbh my game has slipped downwards terribly these past couple of weeks, as Adz can testify :(

I learnt to play CS at 640 * 480 so maybe the change will bring back old skool D0lleh!

640*480 is so much fun :)

Can't believe I left it.

Thinking about going back to software mode now too! :D

(heads are so big - and my spraying works even better - ha ha ha!!)

I thought the size of the models didn't appear any different, nm

Changing the res doesnt change the size of hitboxes or anything else. Its simply personal preference.

Higher res = smaller xhair tho

still 1024 * 768, cos thats the highest my 17" monitor will do at 100 hz

sorry to deface this yummy forum with my presence again lads ;)

my fave rez was 800x600 for ages and ages and ages [ever since I had my voodooII-sli really] but with the faster processors and gForces and whatnot I bumped up to 1024x768.
Strangely I found that the perspective had changed slightly and I was missing shots and falling off ledges, mistiming jumps and stuff. Curious as I am I was wondering if anyone of you has had the same?

I've always used 1024*768, and I think I always will. Its the highest resolution I can run without my refresh rate being so low that the world flickers. Changing res is weird, you normally need to adjust your mouse sensitivity to compensate.

When I change res I have to change mouse sens too.

But I guess at the end of the day it's all in your head more than anything.

Though I do think it hilarious that my cross hair is like a cm big and all I have to do is place it over someone :D

Oh... and the radar is huge - about a 1/7 of the screen - easy to place teamies, etc.

COME TO THE WORLD OF 640*480!!!!

my monitor broke so now i play on an oscillascope(?) is 10X8 really cool. I have no crosshair but if a green line appears in the box in the middle i turn the red knob up a bit, it sometomes works.

sometomes - does that mean various books?

I been through em all in the eternal search for a more comfortable game, and usually come back to 800x640. It just seems to fit for me, not just the game entities but the chat text too. All seems to blend better....but I got wobbly eyes :uhoh: :D

Spot the liar!

:)

I tell you lot though, 640*480 is so much fun.

I rec it heartily.

It's funny when your radar actually obscures part of the screen, or the numbers at bottom are the size of minature houses.
