What programs needed to make movies AND view them ?

hello i have never downloaded any doac movies cos i was on dial up on a shite connection,, today i finally sorted my broadband out.... and i would like to know exactly which are the best (FREE) downloads for MAKING movies / EDITING AND actually viewing ones i have downloaded.

please those in the know post replys with links to the pages . not the download pages but the PROGRAM pages..

http://www.fraps.com - for creating raw movies while playing the game. It will capture from the opengl or direct3d window (Any window)
http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/main.html - for editing the raw avi's fraps gives you.
http://www.divx.com - codec (coding and decoding) of divx movies, needed in premiere to compress you edited movie, needed for any player to play the movies.

One problem: Fraps and Adobe Premiere aren't free, I don't really know any free substitutes...

Why dump divx? You still need a codec(that's why I made clear a codec is to COde and DECode a movie...) to compress the movie into something smaller then the raw avi format fraps gives you.

And still: even VideoLAN uses the normal divx codec, it will be installed together with the player...

If you have Windows (dunno if it have to be XP) then go to microsoft.com and download Windows Movie Maker 2, very good for editing movies, and if you have Windows (xp) then it is free

With usage of Fraps + WMM2 + MixCraft v1.1 (Audio editor, dunno if it is free) this movie was made:

EDIT: Seems the movie have been taken down (link not working in other threads), name was TheWayofRikamaru.wmv and it was possible the best edited DAoC movie out there :/

But, Fraps + WMM2 is a good start, and paying the 30$ for fraps is worth it, imho
