im currently using wrathbound warsword, SI quest bracer, krondon quest belt, 2xDF rings, avernal necklace and rest MP crafted plate/shield. caps all stats etc

There is no 'best' set of kit. It depends on your final spec and the way you like to play. Generally the best set of kit you can get will be spellcrafted, masterpiece kit overcharged to your spec with the gaps filled by whatever jewellery you can pick up. Look here for a more-or-less complete list of no-unique drops. With the introduction of unique drops though it becomes less clear cut, I've seen items that are far better for my spec than the epic drops I used to aspire to getting my hands on.

or

str, con, dex, qui, pie, HP, resists and skills

Easier to do the first, second is for mad people only and time consuming
