ok, this is not a whine... just a "wtf happened?"

story goes like this:

1. i spot a scout, rr7... get on side and open obviously with side chain from cd and this was the start of a painfull and long fight where i was hittin for around 70(-34) mainhand and 30(-14) offhand... i have the ss of it and tbh i didnt spoted any messages regardin some xxx used anything or xxx casted a spell or WH aura or anything else. i would have been pwned but the scout got added -sad yes- and i got my 700+ rps

2. scout no.2, rr9 this time. battle starts well, i'm doin my usuall damage and at some point the nightmare is back... 70dmg mainhand again while i'm hited by the scout with 150-250 by something that looks like malice. i lost ofc, but this is not the point

now, how is that possible? i'm pierce versus a scout wearing armour vulnerable to pierce, i use gs and a crafted lefthand piercer, 50 combined pierce and 61 combined cd, still... 70 dmg mainhand???

i can't recall seeing the battler charge gfx effects, but i was very busy smashin my head to the keyboard and yellin wtf! and it's possible i missed it

any fellow scout can give some hints about it?

Scouts have a lot of tools. Does their PD5 defend against pierce weaps?
WH would have brought up a message I think saying your style damage was blocked on each swing.
Can scouts get malice? Malice should destroy your stats in your window, most go red and icon goes up top, then you hit pretty rubbish. Also malice /use2 would affect you for 20 secs.
Can scouts get battler? The battler use2 lasts for 1 min and can also make you hit for rubbish.
Are your weapons ok? Is it enchanted? It is at 97%+ quality, 90%+ con 0%+ durability?
Like the other responses, maybe there are a few extra buffs on the Scout lent from another player.

If the worst comes to the worst, /purge is your friend :>

You should see messages against WH and malice /use2. Maybe he popped batter and you resisted the debuff but he still benefited from the buff? Never known this to happen but it should be possible. Necro buff will only give around 1/8 overall decrease vs studded. If you were using a LW he might have popped EM3 mindfight? That's the only other thing I can think of that would account for such a huge decrease in damage.

Carry LW's would have solved your first fight 2nd fight I'd check your logs again you almost certainly missed something battler or malice /use2 or malice proc id guess possablility if he swapped weapon out he also had a str/con debuff on weapon but I'd doubt that would debuff you enough to gimp your damage that much, or your bb went ld?

ss1-3 from first fight... notice that the fight started from stealth with me opening with cd side chain on a stationary target... no other alb could been seen around

on 1st swing mainhand did a normal (for a high pd scout) damage then his SoM procced and starting with offhand hit i got around 50% dmg decrease because of what?


ss4-8 are from the second fight and the weird effect start to show in ss7 but at least there appear a "Dafft casts a spell" message

not sure but i think blitz using MS and when u hit him u get dmg
when ms procs gives u 30% abs and dmg shield but u sould ask him instead

nope, it looks like damage shield from a caster which delves for around 4.5 dps and damage is sensible alike with my own dmg add at 4.3 dps

could be but my 4.2 dmg add does 11dmg while i get hit back by 12dmg... difference between 4.2 dmg add and scalars' 6.1 should be bigger. besides that the only effect that popped on blitz was SoM proc. scalars should give a message too.

On Picture 1 you hit Blitz his Maddening Scalars gloves, which procs a temporarily 40% absorb buff and a damage shield. Albs dont have conc-based damage-shields, unless using CTD, and he's a 'spear' (Goldenspear?) so its quite obviously.


The fight against Dafft is abit more obviously, you will notice on the 'normal damage' he has no damage-shield up, but on picture 7/8 the Diamondback after the unstyled hit drops to pathethic damage. Suddenly he has a damage-shield aswell, which is a side-proc from Scalars-proc which is the 40% absorb buff.

Scalars-procs are often I-Win in fights, simply because its too much to overcome, its 'only' 15 or 30 secs duration but in that time you're missing easily out on 500~ damage, which is alot.

Tough luck to proc it tho, I would probably hit battler /use2 on them to counter it somehow.
