Instead of Excal and Pryd being two completely separate servers, they'll be joined together. There'll be one frontier, one DF, one Celestius and one of each capital city that both servers will share. The rest of the classic, SI, ToA and Catacombs Zones will still be separate but people from both servers will be able to visit them so if you play Alb/Pryd, you can go to a ML raid on Alb/Excal for example.
The downside is that you can only really play one realm on both servers. Say you only had characters on Alb/Pryd and you wanted to make characters on Excal you'd only be able to make Albs. If you had characters on Alb/Pryd and Mid/Excal already, you could make new characters on both those realms but if you wanted to try Hib instead, you'd need to either buy a new account or delete all your characters on both servers (If you only deleted your Excal characters you'd only have the choice of Albs on Excal and if you ony deleted your Pryd characters you'd only be able to roll Mids on Pryd).
Also if you already had characters on different realms of each server you'd have to wait an hour before switching realms. If you had characters on Alb/Pryd and Mid/Excal for instance and you logged into Mid to find no-one in your guild was on but there was a ML raid on Alb you wanted to join, you'd have to wait an hour after logging out of Mid before you could relog in Alb.
