Just wondered what's the high lights of peoples experience within this game?

Mine: Being given high lvl armour/weapon and magic items by complete strangers (a policy I have now adopted).

My first taste of Hibernian soil...during my first RvR in Emain (how the adreneline pumped).

Raking in the money with a fine group in the Catacombs. No one asking to "have a look at other peoples item drops", yet sharing loot to who it would serve best. Few groups are like that and Im always sad to see them go.

Anyone else?

hmm

Best experiences to date include:

Exp'ing in Spraggon Den with a very good group and getting right the way into the lowest part, camping there for about 30 minutes killing anything that moved.

Unexpected gifts from strangers

Giving stuff I can't use away to lower / Higher level classes who can

Creating my first full set of armour for a low level character for free - made me feel all warm and fluffy as he walked off in my armour.

RvRing in Midgard with some top Hibbies and fighting some fun middies - last night we're in the middle of a fight with purple con (arent they all? :) ) middies and a saracen appears out of nowhere wastes two middies then runs off /salute to you m8 - I didnt catch your name but thanks

Too many to mention

Funniest has to be when I walked up to a party of 30 odd purple middies, dancing, waving, saluting. They left me along until I tried to res some hibbies then they killed me in two shots. All the time we were cracking up wondering how long it would take them to kill me :D

Best moment?

My best moment was when I decided to go into Midgard on my own for the first time.

I had never seen an enemy player before but then I finally got to meet two of them wandering about lost.

They conned green, I had just got my new Stag ability.

My heart started pumping, sweat started pouring down my brow.

I waited until they both where looking the other way and then I charged. I managed to kill them both.

After that I thought I was pretty damn good. That is until I met my first ever purple con Mid. :(

----------------------

Oh yeah, that and soloing the giant Parth at the farm. That was pretty funny.

Mine by far:

Monster hunting:

Levels 16-19 at the parth farm. Met some of my best friends there, got to know my job in the group (only had grouped with an enchie before this) and leveled faster than I could ever believe. /salute Jinnythewst! :D

Also the times I've been with the posse we're now naming The Group. It's constructed of people with a good attitude (not an evening goes without the usual fooling-around slander which I love) and the best skilled individuals I've met that con yellow to me. /salute Daicald, Dunnarimar, Marius, Moon, Eartha.. etc.

RvR:

First time in Yggdra with a solid HDS group, seeing my first oj middie. Leaders flooding "chaaarge!" and "awesome, mates!". And getting ganked by a purple mass later on :D

Keep raids that have prolonged "they're out there, we're in here" sessions of keep defence, even if it would fail. It lags, I die, people die, people use bugged bows (I guess, haven't paid much attention, don't care tbh) but damn it's fun as heck!

And the newest addition me out-fighting a bluecon tankish norseman today on the road in odin's. I had 30-40% HPs left, he had 25%, my bladeturn was gone and I resorted to my stick. Guess the norsebugger fumbled, and I beat him dead (got screenies :D) with the mighty branch! I'm a robed caster, mind you, and only had my af buff on me :D

Sadly, though, that which I mentioned previously has been the sole light in the past few days. XPing is quite boring when done alone, and groups are a bit scarce for an eldie of light (admitted, that void is in a worse situation here). Every group needs a nuker, and they know it, but there are too many bubble-boys and such about to take the slots before anything can be thrown at a nuker

Still, it's been 80% pure fun :D

Most fun:

- The Dino hunting parties (ollipheists). I remember the first time we went, and we were like...we're SO dead! :) Then they fell quite easily.

- Soloing an orange con paladin. I love 2h tanks who don't pay attention. Hit both my bolts before he started turning, mezzed him, bolted once more, DD, 8s stun and then DD till his death. Ding Ding 270RPs...

Most fun event for me was the killing of the Amalgawhatjemecallit parthanan, didn't get much XP but was nice to see all the guilds out in force.

RvR experiences would have to be: Killing a green con dwarf and green con SB who were camping ligen, dueling a orange connorse in Ligen (though a lower level Hero did help a bit) then immediatley after a blue hunter. Also the big battle between Alb and Hib in Odins and then later that evening the Mids charge against us (even though we got wiped was damn fun).

One time that I remember was when we went to explore Uppland for the first time and killed a snow crab there. It was first mob I saw that was bigger than me..
Actually it was bigger than our whole party.

Well, last nights play features quite heavily in my "most fun yet" books... I'd been speaking to a few of the smaller guilds in midgard, and we'd only ever taken part in large scale keep raids, where the chances of failure were slim. Last night we arranged for a 30-something raid... Talon's Reach, Savage Conclave, Amazons, The Dentists, Purple Warriors, and Nyd got together 5 groups, and we tried our hands at keep raids. I'd not organised one before, and our overall experience was pretty low... and on our first attempt we ALL died... we managed to get an overspawn on guards, and they wiped the lot of us...

Being true middies, we were stubborn, and didnt let this get us down, we released and returned, and smashed a door down... We had just taken the second door, when once more the guards spawned, leaving only two healers, and one hidden shadowblade alive...

fifteen minutes later, we were rezzed, and ready to go, we charged the keep, and dropped the second door... we killed the troops inside, and off went our higher levels to hit the lord...

I got stuck in the courtyard healing a poor warrior who'd managed to get caught with two guards, I coulnd't keep him alive... and the two guards turned on me, I started saying my prayers... I knew the end was near, and closed my eyes, they drew back their arms for the final hit and....

it never came... when I opened my eyes again, they'd gone... their lord had been defeated and they'd run for the hills...

oh boy was I happy...

Heh, the keep raid was fun.

RL meant that I missed the chaos of the first attack, but had joined up with about half of the 30+ Dentists for the second wave, before having to release back to Aud before we could finally deal with the second set of doors.

I must say, watching a handful of guards come pelting down the hill towards us, carving huge chunks out of the raiders, was pretty scarey to a low hit-point kobold like myself :)

Can I take this opportunity to thank the Albs for spending so much time camped out in Yggdra killing grey-cons? After a weekend getting smacked to death in one of the few areas that I can XP (the dungeons just don't seem to suit my style of play), I was beginning to get a little upset about it (particularly the high-level sorcerer, who mezzed 12 of us 25-35s, then killed us one at a time with a single DD each on Saturday - bet he got *loads* of RPs for that).

I had thought that you albies were just being a bit sad, killing grey-cons for zero XP or RPs - but I realise now that you are all closet Middies, doing your best to help us win this war :)

You must be - 'cos while you are all doing nothing very useful in Yggdra, you allow a group of frankly under-powered Middies to take down another of your keeps without any opposition at all :D

So carry on killing greys in the frontiers, all you Albs and Hibs - we'll carry on taking your keeps at our leisure :)

not allowed to turn this into realm hate....

good fun was had by all, and I have it on good authority that the albs knew we were there, but decided not to show, as they claim we vanish and attack other keeps when they do :)

fine by me... anyone want to buy an alb keep? slightly dented?

Spug's is also one of my best memories. A great night ... even though when rushing the Lord I managed to go all the way to the top first time and miss the turning. Still I managed to get stuck into the Lord when he had plenty of health left and it was a pleasure to see it dropping so quickly. The teamwork, good will, determination etc. was great to be part of.

Another was that night we Mids were retaking Bledmeer with Albions inside and were attacked by what seemed a load of Albions coming up the road. It was large-scale rvr, besiegers became besieged etc.

Good groups are always a pleasure, both for the fun and to be part of fighting well. Making friends, getting to know people through groups and rvr has been good. Less said the better about occasional people who are less enjoyable to be around.

But my best memory is the forming of my guild, Nyd. A tiny little roleplaying guild of good friends. We weren't sure we could get it going but since we have it's an ongoing pleasure to be part of.

I think the previous few posts say it all for me. Unlike a number of the other guilds The Dentists had not been involved in a keep raid before and we had a blast. Thanks Spug the warrior was me cos I saw them spawn near you and decided to intervene (ah death holds no fear for a Zerker).

I also agree with many of the other posts the passing of items etc. which I have done many times, partuclarly in the very early days of our guild. Now we try and keep stuff to hand down to newer members to help them on their way.

The one post I do really agrre and appreciate was the one about crafting made earlier. Lets be honest it gets a bit tedious to get it to any sort of reasonable level, but being able to make weapons to suit the newer chars is a great feeling. I for one am very proud, no actually amazed, ther are people running about Midgard with weapons I have crafted and they are still in one piece.

No, mate, they sold your crafted rubbish at the nearest merchant and bought some proper 85% quality stuff :D

One of my best times was last night in Sheeroe.

Some of the mobs out there look suspiciously like some PC's... Almerath took all his armour off and looked exactly like an elfshot madman - he followed him round for a couple of minutes and the other poeple in the group couldn't spot him! LOL!

Then later some robes dropped from the Azures and it was my turn to cross dress - took my cloak, shield and armour off, put the vest on and I looked just like them. So I tried to walk into their village... they somehow saw through my disguise though damn them, and nearly killed me before my group managed to rescue me :)

A few of our group kept going ld, but the whole night was hilarious fun, and we had lots of drops, so I now have a pretty looking sword to use in a couple of lvls.

Look out for me... I'm the Druid Azure! I'm gonna have to get me some robes and dye them that colour to use as my day to day wear :)

I probably got 2 moments I really enjoyed, both were RvR

First and foremost the recent (2 weeks ago?) attack by albion on all of Midgard keeps and their taking of Bledmeer.

This was the best In Game experience I had thus far, our small group that was in Odins patrolling the road between the Glacier Giant and the Fork to MG/MK worked really hard to stay out of site of albs, picked off any guys that came up the road, basically were a nuisance, then we got some more peeps and went to Bledmeer.

Keep attack against a defended keep, cant get any better than this, was epic to say the least, lasted 90 mins it seemed and it was a hard fought battle, loads deaths loads kills loads shouting, great fun.

2nd moment was similar in the Albion Staff relic raid, that was a fun nite also, loads defenders, loooong battle, great fun.

For me Mythic got what they wanted, being RvR action that captivates the masses.

besides all the things already mentioned I must say my guild mates. this game wouldn't be half as fun without <The Black Grail> to entertain me ;)

Reborn, Garik, Rauthott, Tuncarl,Glod, Zolo, Inis, Blimp, Guchluch,
and all the others thnx for helping to make this game as good as it is

have to say that the battle a bledmeer was on of the greatest gaming moments for me ever. The mids seiging a defended bledmeer and repelling an attack from the rear.

classic stuff

had a load of people watching over my shoulder all asking questions like "whats going on?" and "why dont you just kill him?" All were impressed at the sheer scale of it and i couldnt wipe that smile off my face for days!!

I agree about crafters, Hellskor's hammer has been a joy to use. Just have to choose between it and my epic reward now.

And agree about giving stuff away and getting it. A big thank-you to Uryens who worked out my hammer was rubbish and gave me a new one. Having spent what seemed like ages working over the thralls in Spindelhalla in search of a Silksteel Cloak I got lots of pleasure giving away most of the items that dropped. Then when, finally, the claok dropped I got the intense pleasure of thinking: 'I never have to come here and bash another thrall ever, ever again.'

Doing this is great fun. I stop by and say like "Too tired to carry this, accept." and continue on my way. :)
But anyway, my highlights are Yggdra with my scout... th feeling of other mids looking for you after you just sniped some poor bastard is exhiliarating! You actually get really excited after you sniped a member of an enemy realm.

Finally seeing all the people I started the game with (those happy days at the parth farm) turn orange again at 40 after they all left me stranded in the mid 20's ;)

Discovering the joys of yggdra with Thiumb "you mean not ALL middies are purple con????". Never forget my first orange troll kill - he came out to babysit a group of green cons I was having fun with only to follow the dirtnap road himself :) Ah such pride!
Looking forward to more frontier trips out there with ya Thiumb ;)

Generally meeting lots of nice folk (those loverly people at HDS not least ;)) - even if some of them do put bad cursors on their website (Trew??.......).

The keep take lead by Spug was a great night and I'll remember it for a while. But some of the best memories for me have to be the keep takes already mentioned above and a night of mass RvR in Emain a few months ago. It started off quite quietly then all of a sudden the call went out to get to emain as the albs and hibs were forcing us back to our PK. I think it all started at about 9 or 10 but it went on till atleast 2 in the morning.

Also the Guild hunts that are arranged by our (Savage Conclave) officers are another great night. Every friday you will see atleast 25 - 30 Savagers charging about somewhere in Midgard. Always a good laugh and usually some good xp too.

Another memory was when i was around lvl 22 and was waiting in Gna to go off hunting in Varlul i think when all of a sudden a purp Runie stopped and said here have this. Turned out to be a Spear of the Elements (big red thing) and im still using it today.

Dino hunting at lower lvls......BIG mobs and all was very purp when we started hunting them. When the first resisted my debuff pull my heart jumped. But they went down nice and easy :)

Sheeroe hills, have not been very far in but first time I ever got there and realized those little glimmerlings have huge aggro range and we got 12-15 of them same time just because my guildmate said we should walk the middle of the valley and kill em all  . And chainkilling at azure fence and village with Toirdhealbach as our private guide.
